Actually, this name contains deep meaning:

Surface Humility: Grass is the weakest life in nature, trampled upon, swaying in the wind, with no aggression. Chanyuan Celestials say: "We are the weakest group in the world, not confronting any power."

Inner Magic: But think carefully—though grass is weak, it's the foundation of all life. Without grass, the earth would be barren. Moreover, the "celestials" in Chanyuan are special—they are rare and precious grass, seeds of celestial beings.

Like the rose in "The Little Prince"—it looks ordinary, yet it's unique.

Where Do Chanyuan Celestials Come From?¶

Lifechanyuan believes that most Chanyuan Celestials are not "ordinary people."

In previous lives or past past lives, they lived in higher-level life spaces—places called the "Thousand-Year World," "Ten-Thousand-Year World," or "Celestial Islands Continent of the Elysium World" (somewhat like Buddhism's "Pure Land," but more specific).

Why did they come to the mortal world? Several possibilities:

Violated celestial laws and were descended to the mortal world for refinement
Dispatched by deities to complete certain missions in the mortal world
Cultivated in the mortal world, finally achieving perfect human nature
