Goodness (善 Shàn) — Internal Edition¶
In Lifechanyuan terminology, LIFE (capitalized) refers to the ontological essence of existence — the soul/antimatter structure that persists across incarnations — while life (lowercase) refers to the experiential stage of human existence in this world.

Goodness (善, Shàn) is one of the six core LIFE qualities in the Lifechanyuan system — Truth, Goodness, Beauty, Love, Faith, and Sincerity — and is an attribute of the Greatest Creator, the core value of human nature, one of the most important flowers in the soul garden, an essential measure of a LIFE's level, a necessary condition for reaching the Thousand-Year World of Heaven, and the core manifestation of the law of cause and effect in the Hundun system. Goodness is not weakness, not foolishness, and certainly not unprincipled accommodation — it is living according to the will of the Greatest Creator. This is Lifechanyuan's most refined definition of Goodness.

III. The Practical Standard of Goodness: What Is Goodness?¶

Revere the Greatest Creator, revere LIFE, revere nature, revere divine spirits, emulate sages and worthies, be filial to parents, respect elders and love the young, treat people equally, praise good deeds, encourage others, have compassionate heart toward things, love oneself and extend to others, sympathize with others' disasters, rejoice in others' joys, relieve others' emergencies, rescue others from danger, reveal others' strengths, display one's own shortcomings, give grace without remembering, receive grace and always repay, receive insults without resentment, receive injuries without hatred, enlighten others' wisdom, guide others toward light, transmit knowledge to others, teach skills to others, be diligent and frugal, work diligently, be faithful and honest, be simple and sincere, make people happy, make people joyful, give people freedom, help people achieve bliss, catch thieves when seeing them, subdue demons when encountering them, praise truth and beauty, conceal evil and promote goodness, seek truth from facts, curb lies, do not pick up lost articles on the road, do not close doors at night, take pleasure in helping others, give convenience to others, have consistent words and deeds, have consistent inner and outer self, do not take evil paths, do not deceive in dark rooms, wish others peace, pray for others' fortune and smoothness, when rich do not show off, when poor do not flatter, often say thank you, have grateful heart, when successful do not be arrogant, when frustrated do not be discouraged, boost others' aspirations, increase others' confidence, help others achieve beauty, help others accomplish things, treat others with loyalty and forgiveness, have magnanimity to tolerate others, be humble and polite, observe order, retreat bravely from swift currents, do not contend with the world, be fair and just, do not favor relatives and friends, volunteer and dedicate, have peaceful heart and calm qi, be clean and tidy, have kind eyebrows and benevolent eyes, answer when asked, be hospitable and welcoming, donate to charity, help those in danger and relieve those in difficulty, speak truthfully, often plant fruit trees, not arrogant or impatient, have peaceful temper, not attached to superficial splendor, not admire nobility and glory, rise at dawn, rest at dusk, be eager to learn and make progress, shine with brilliance, dress appropriately, have beautiful aura that captivates, stand-walk-sit-lie with pleasing image, be cheerful and lively, be good at joyful games, have pleasant voice, have moving speech, when encountering good things, put others first and oneself last; when encountering hard tasks, put oneself first and others last, be open and aboveboard, do not do dark deeds, strictly keep to one's duty, do not desire external enjoyment, love peace, broadly love strangers, be close to nature, cherish grass and protect flowers, be amiable and approachable, have pity even for insects.
Fortune and misfortune have no gate — people summon them themselves. The reward for good and evil follows like a shadow. As you sow, so shall you reap. The net of Heaven has large meshes, but it lets nothing through.
IV. Goodness and Cause and Effect: Good Deeds Bring Good Rewards Is a Cosmic Law¶

Once, I sincerely praised a certain government, a certain political party, a certain leader, but ended up having them occupy my home, driving me to a dead end. Was I being good? I think I was not being good, but being an accomplice to tyranny — my praise was an irrational evil. ...
