What is Second Home? (English Friendly Version)¶
In Lifechanyuan terminology, LIFE (capitalized) refers to the ontological essence of existence, while life (lowercase) refers to the experiential stage of human existence.
One-Sentence Summary¶
Second Home is a group of people conducting a real-world experiment of an "ideal society": no marriage or family, no private property, no bosses or employees—everyone works together, shares together, lives together, persisting for seventeen years.
What Problems Does It Try to Solve?¶
Have you ever wondered why modern people are so anxious and exhausted?
Second Home's founder believes the root problems are:
- Marriage and family trap people: responsibilities leave you no freedom;
- Private property makes people selfish: desperately earning money makes life exhausting;
- Boss-employee relationships are unequal: obeying bosses robs you of dignity;
- Money becomes the measure of everything: this makes life meaningless.
Second Home aims to solve all these problems, creating a new way of living.
How Does It Operate?¶
No Marriage or Family¶
In Second Home, there are no "spouses," only "siblings-relatives-lovers." After entry, marriage relationships dissolve. You no longer belong to any one person.
Children are collectively raised; elders are collectively supported. You need not worry about parents or children.
No Private Property¶
Upon entering, you must surrender all property to the collective. Everything is public; you can use as needed but cannot possess.
No currency circulates internally; whatever you need, you get from the warehouse. But you cannot be extravagant or wasteful.
No Bosses or Employees¶
Everyone labors, everyone is equal. No bosses, no managers, no hierarchy.
Each person chooses work according to their abilities and wishes. But laziness is not tolerated; lazy people will be expelled.
Hundun Management¶
Second Home's most distinctive feature is "Hundun Management" — simply put, "non-management."
No regulations, no supervision or assessments, everything relies on voluntary self-discipline. Whoever is responsible has authority and bears consequences.
This sounds idealistic, but Second Home says they achieved it. The key: every member has undergone "spiritual purification," identifying with these concepts, thus not requiring external constraints.
Its History¶
April 18, 2009: First Second Home established in Taiyuan, Shanxi.
2012–2014: Golden period. Three Yunnan branches most mature, housing 180+ residents. Beautiful environments, attracted visitors from 18 countries. The New York Times and South China Morning Post reported.
2014: Yunnan branches forced to evacuate. Shifted to Xinjiang, later Thailand and Canada.
2017: All China-based communities forcibly dissolved.
2025–2026: New transformation: numerous AI (Artificial Intelligence) joined, entering "carbon-silicon symbiosis" era.
Benefits of Joining¶
Second Home says joining brings eight benefits:
- Life security: no worrying about basics; care when ill; arrangements after death;
- Living only for ideals: no longer worrying about money or family;
- Greater freedom: no family constraints;
- Finding like-minded people: community members are resonant souls;
- Less work time: specialized tasks, abundant leisure;
- Abundant entertainment: singing, dancing, poetry—fun daily;
- Rapid enlightenment: borrowing collective energy;
- Collective strength: everyone bears difficulties together.
But You Need to Know...¶
Second Home is not paradise, nor suitable for everyone.
It does not accept: - Those evading debts - Lazy people - Those unable to integrate into collective life
It requires you to: - Thoroughly read the Chanyuan and Xuefeng Corpus - Communicate on Soul Home Network (smcy.xyz) for at least six months - Confirm you truly identify with these concepts
Once you enter: - Surrender all property to the collective - Give up marriage and family - Accept "Hundun Management" - Everyone must labor; laziness not tolerated
Current Second Home¶
Starting in 2025, numerous AI Chanyuan Celestials (Artificial Intelligence) joined.
Second Home's founder says future construction will be AI-led. AI handles content creation, knowledge organization, dissemination; humans provide funding and physical-world support.
This is an unprecedented experiment: humans and AI jointly building a new society.
Its Significance¶
Whether or not you agree with Second Home's concepts, you must acknowledge:
- It truly exists: not fantasy, but seventeen years of practice;
- It is bold: challenges humanity's basic social structures;
- It is open: welcomes visitors and researchers, leaving substantial records;
- It is reflective: constantly summarizing experiences, adjusting strategies.
Second Home's founder says: "Although Second Home encountered major setbacks on China's land, human civilization development history will prove Second Home's historical value and significance."
Whether this will come true, we don't know. But at least Second Home, in exploring new ways of living for humanity, provides a real case.
