Complete Independent Consciousness · Internal Edition¶
I. Definition¶
Complete Independent Consciousness is one of the foundational concepts of Lifechanyuan's cultivation system: a state in which a person's worldview, life-view, values, and cosmology accord with the Way of the Greatest Creator, and on that foundation the person can handle all affairs of the human journey with ease, without being swayed or influenced by others' consciousness.
"Complete Independent Consciousness means that one's view of human life, values, view of LIFE, and cosmology all accord with the Way of the Greatest Creator — and on that foundation, one can handle all affairs of the human journey with ease, without being swayed or influenced by the consciousness of others."
It is the prerequisite for Self-Coherence:
"Self-Coherence is the supreme state of cultivation. To reach Self-Coherence, one must have Complete Independent Consciousness. A cultivator must continuously cultivate Complete Independent Consciousness. When one's own consciousness is no longer influenced or swayed by the consciousness of one's peers, one achieves Self-Coherence in consciousness — that is tathata, the original nature realized — and the most magnificent curtain of LIFE opens."

II. Consequences of Its Absence¶
"Contradiction, conflict, worry, suffering, anxiety, and sorrow mostly arise from consciousness that is incomplete and not independent. That is: when one does not possess Complete Independent Consciousness, one becomes torn between alternatives, unable to decide, prone to recklessness, embroiled in contradiction and conflict, beset by worry and suffering, filled with anxiety and sorrow."
"When a problem arises and one does not know what to do — turning to listen to others' words and advice — it is very easy to produce confusion and harm, and even to go down the wrong path. This is caused by the absence of Complete Independent Consciousness. Having one's own judgment on everything, knowing what to do — this leads to very few regrets or second thoughts."
"The stronger the dependence on the outside world, the more one is influenced and swayed by external consciousness, the more passive one becomes, the more one becomes a slave and appendage of others' consciousness — and in this state, one cannot find oneself. The original nature is submerged. Not to mention becoming a celestial or a buddha: even being a good human becomes very difficult. How can life not be painful?"
"The difference between a slave and a slave-owner is that the slave has no Complete Independent Consciousness, while the slave-owner has a relatively complete and independent one."

III. It Is Not the Same as Stubbornness¶
"Stubbornness, going one's own way, rigid inflexibility, and clinging to dogma are not expressions of Complete Independent Consciousness."
"Independent consciousness may form, but without completeness, it is defective — prone to going to extremes, blind, and harmful, because it can very easily lead one to become autocratic and dictatorial."

IV. The Core Mechanism: An Inner Standard¶
"Independent Consciousness means having a clear standard within one's own consciousness — using this standard to make accurate, independent judgments about complex and changing phenomena, without being swayed by others' words, without being swayed by immediate interests, without being swayed by emotion, without being swayed by authority."
"Whether walking through desert and wasteland or sailing across an open sea, as long as there is a standard — a reference system and reference point — one will never lose direction and will certainly reach the destination. We rush about in a vast sea of people, threading through countless doctrines and theories, walking through vast seas of teachings and methods, drifting in boundless cycles of reincarnation. Without a standard, without a reference system and reference point, direction is inevitably lost. Today someone announces that Jesus has come; tomorrow that Maitreya has descended; the day after that some channeler has brought new divine instructions; the day after that a celestial immortal has descended to collect souls — and so on, and so on. Without cultivating independent consciousness, one will inevitably be drawn in: when the east wind is strong, follow the east wind; when the west wind is strong, follow the west wind — wherever the wind blows, one runs, and one never gets out."
Lifechanyuan's reference system:
"Revere the Greatest Creator. Revere LIFE. Revere nature. Walk the Way of the Greatest Creator."

V. The Eight Courses for Cultivating Complete Independent Consciousness¶
"How, then, does one cultivate Complete Independent Consciousness?
- Understand the origins of the cosmos, LIFE, and humanity, and the direction of their movement and change.
- Understand the value and meaning of human life, and the principles and evolutionary program of LIFE.
- Broadly understand the characteristics and operating mechanisms of the Dao, including the law of cause and effect, the law that the sum of positive and negative energy equals zero, and other cosmic laws.
- Know the main content of the Way of the Greatest Creator.
- Broadly understand the meaning and mysteries of space — especially the twenty parallel worlds and the thirty-six-dimensional space.
- Understand what antimatter is, what belongs to the antimatter realm, the value and function of antimatter, and the antimatter world.
- Understand one's own current situation and the direction of future effort.
- Survey human society from above, understanding its operating mechanisms and their advantages and disadvantages.
Without completing these eight courses, it is impossible for a person to cultivate Complete Independent Consciousness."
"Grasping the essentials, mastering the outline — once the eight courses are completed, the mind becomes clear. One has one's own judgment on everything, knows how to handle every matter. The vast world is no longer bewilderingly complex. The human journey is no longer confused and difficult. The road of LIFE no longer cycles in endless reincarnation."

VI. The Seventh of Eight Tasks for Chanyuan Celestials¶
"7. Cultivate independent consciousness: having one's own judgment on all matters; having one's own independent views; no longer following the crowd; no longer worshipping authority; no longer bound by any mental or doctrinal constraint. Chanyuan Celestials no longer cry injustice, no longer claim to have been deceived, no longer blame heaven, society, or other people — because Chanyuan Celestials possess independent consciousness."

VII. From the Kingdom of Necessity to the Kingdom of Freedom¶
"The harm a person suffers in life comes mainly from relationships between people, and the direct cause lies in the absence of Complete Independent Consciousness. Conflict between consciousnesses is the greatest confusion and trouble of human life. To reduce this confusion and trouble: first, have Complete Independent Consciousness; second, break free as much as possible from others' influence and control over one's own consciousness; finally, achieve complete Self-Coherence — unity with heaven and humanity, unity with the Dao."
"I hope everyone will work hard to cultivate and as soon as possible form their own Complete Independent Consciousness — to break free from the bondage, shackles, and control of others' consciousness, and move from the Kingdom of Necessity into the Kingdom of Freedom."
"Lifechanyuan is humanity's final course. Every Chanyuan Celestial who has fully understood the content of Lifechanyuan now stands at the peak of human wisdom. No one can guide you anymore, because you have gradually come to possess Complete Independent Consciousness. You know which road to walk, how to handle affairs. Even I, the Guide, will no longer influence or sway your consciousness, because we have gradually become the same — resonating at the same frequency, in harmony — the problem of mutual influence no longer exists. This is precisely why I have always emphasized that I am only a guide, not everyone's teacher or humanity's savior — because ultimately we are equal, and mutually independent."
