Intermediate Refinement (中级修炼)

Intermediate Refinement (zhōngjí xiūliàn) is the second stage of Lifechanyuan's three-tier Refinement system. Its purpose is "refining the heart (liàn xīn)" — working through eight sequential methods: stilling, stopping, governing, rectifying, emptying, settling, purifying, and resolving the heart-mind. The goal is to dispel the layers of confusion that cloud the heart, making it transparent and pure, and thereby transcending the mundane to achieve an unconditioned state. Resolving the heart (liǎo xīn) is the culmination of Intermediate Refinement and the foundation for Advanced Refinement's "refining the nature."

Core Definition

Intermediate Refinement: its purpose is to refine the heart — through stilling, stopping, governing, rectifying, emptying, settling, purifying, and resolving the heart — to dispel the heavy mists that cloud the heart-mind, making the inner state transparent and pure, achieving the goals of transcending the mundane, going beyond the ordinary, resolving the heart, and surpassing the conventional. It also lays the foundation for the nature-refining work of Advanced Refinement.
