Jiefu and Xiaoyizi — The In-Law Endearment System

In Lifechanyuan's community, Jiefu (elder sister's husband), Xiaoyizi (wife's younger sister), Zhanmuniang (mother-in-law), and Xiaoguizi (wife's younger brother) form a unique system of affectionate kinship terms. The Guide Xuefeng adopts the role of "Jiefu," female Chanyuan Celestials are called "Xiaoyizi," senior women are "Zhanmuniang," and male members are "Xiaoguizi." This is not a literal family structure but a cultural expression of boundary-free, warmly intimate, spiritually unbounded relating — one of Lifechanyuan's most distinctive interpersonal traditions.

The most enjoyable and harmonious relationship in life is that of Jiefu and Xiaoyizi — nothing else can match its uninhibited closeness and fond intimacy. The happiest man in the world is one who has Xiaoyizi; the more Xiaoyizi, the greater his worth and the fuller his happiness.
