Purifying the Mind¶

Purifying the mind is the central pillar of cultivation practice in the Lifechanyuan system, and one of the foundational conditions for becoming a celestial being. Xuefeng designates it as the supreme purpose of life:

"The supreme purpose of life is to purify the mind. Of all things under heaven, nothing is greater than this."

In the Lifechanyuan context, purifying the mind carries a dual meaning: first, clearing the weeds from the soul garden (negative states such as greed, selfishness, jealousy, attachment, arrogance, and laziness) so that spiritual perception (灵觉) can awaken; second, reconstructing the five outlooks (one's view of God, the universe, life, etc.) so that suffering no longer inflicts true damage and cultivation becomes a natural way of living.

Purifying the mind yields four great benefits: 1. No longer wounded by the human world — understanding the nature of suffering, seeing through the "play within a play," so that worldly events can no longer truly injure the life 2. Eligibility to apply for a Celestial Realm visa — life quality rises to meet the standard for entering a tier of the Celestial Realm, qualifying one to become a Celestial citizen 3. Eligibility to apply for residence in the Second Home — entry into the human-realm rehearsal space for celestial life 4. Awakening spiritual perception and locating the Immortal Islands — the spiritual eye opens, the celestial coordinates become clear, the ultimate destination comes into focus
