Dharma Eye

The Dharma Eye (法眼, Fǎyǎn) is the fourth level of wisdom in the Five Eyes system transmitted by the Buddha — positioned above the Wisdom Eye and below the Buddha Eye. It is the capacity to perceive the operating principles behind all phenomena, discern right from wrong at the deepest level, and comprehend the mysteries of LIFE and the landscape of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Lifechanyuan integrates the traditional Buddhist Five Eyes into a complete wisdom-level framework (Eight Hundred Concepts #88):

Material Eye wisdom → Celestial Eye wisdom → Wisdom Eye wisdom → Dharma Eye wisdom → Buddha Eye wisdom

Xuefeng writes in "I Open the Dharma Eye for Everyone" (2007):

"With the Dharma Eye, wisdom bursts forth suddenly — 'all mountains are seen below.' One can discern right from wrong, and comprehend the mysteries of LIFE and the scenery of the Kingdom of Heaven."

The key to opening the Dharma Eye is grasping the Three Elements of the Universe — Consciousness, Structure, and Energy. Once their interrelationship is clarified, the Dharma Eye opens, and one will no longer be confused by any profound doctrine or theory.

When the Dharma Eye opens, one stands in the ranks of the highest wisdom throughout all of human history. With the Dharma Eye open, plus reverence for the Greatest Creator, concern for all under heaven, and working for the happiness of the suffering — one draws close to the divine.
