The Golden Mean¶
The Golden Mean (中庸之道, zhōngyōng zhī dào) in the Lifechanyuan system is the foundational guideline for how Chanyuan Celestials navigate worldly society — holding to the middle ground between extremes, remaining flexible and impartial, and following the Tao naturally. Guide Xuefeng draws on his own life experience to identify this as the quality of a worthy person and "a manifestation of the Tao," requiring broad learning and lived experience to truly understand.
To become a worthy person, walk the Golden Mean. The slightest bias, and one becomes a scoundrel.
