This version is for cultivators and researchers. It contains complete original quotations, organized under the six-section logical framework, with full source citations.

Entry Overview

Human Consciousness is the psychological structure and thinking pattern that keeps LIFE bound to the human level — encompassing collective identities such as nation, ethnicity, family, and religion, as well as emotional and desire patterns such as jealousy, greed, fear, and possessiveness. Celestial Consciousness is the LIFE-awareness that transcends human limitations, centered on following circumstances with open abandon, flowing freely wherever LIFE leads, and entrusting LIFE to the Greatest Creator. In the Lifechanyuan system, where LIFE goes is determined by its antimatter structure, and that structure is determined by consciousness — formatting out human consciousness and installing celestial consciousness is the only path for LIFE to ascend from the human realm into the celestial realm.

I. Core Definition — Consciousness Determines Structure; Structure Determines Destination

We are now human beings. The antimatter structure we possess is the human antimatter structure. Without changing the human antimatter LIFE structure and achieving the antimatter LIFE structure of a celestial being, we cannot go to the Thousand-Year World, the Ten-Thousand-Year World, or the Celestial Islands Continent of the Elysium World. The only way to change the antimatter LIFE structure is to work at the level of consciousness — that is, to format out human consciousness and then install celestial consciousness. Only in this way, only by making celestial consciousness our habitual disposition, will we be planted by the Greatest Creator into the celestial realm of the Kingdom of Heaven, just as farmers plant wheat and corn seeds in their respective fields.

If human consciousness is not replaced by celestial consciousness, a human being will always remain human and can never become a celestial being.

"Formatting" is a computer term — it means clearing all existing programs from a computer, leaving it blank, and then installing new programs. In Lifechanyuan, "formatting" means completely clearing all the habitual dispositions and character traits one has as a human being, restoring the original Buddha-nature, and installing celestial consciousness in place of human consciousness.

II. The Specific Content of Human Consciousness

Which are the human-consciousness patterns that need to be changed, and which are the celestial-consciousness patterns that need to be installed? Nation, religion, political party, ethnicity, marriage, and family consciousness are human consciousness. Jealousy, resentment, anger, rage, comparison, selfishness, greed, laziness, competition, confrontation, contention, possession, and ownership — all are human consciousness. Seeking fame, seeking profit, seeking status, seeking merit, seeking to glorify one's ancestors, seeking to leave a legacy, seeking longevity, seeking wealth, seeking magical techniques, seeking extraordinary abilities — all are human consciousness. Fear, worry, anxiety, and dread are human consciousness. Emotional and daily-life dependence on external factors is human consciousness. Wanting to change nature is human consciousness.

(Chanyuan Corpus · Thirty-Six Trigram Formations · Structure Formation: Thirty-Six Trigram Formation Ten)

What constrains a person from going to the Kingdom of Heaven is not the cliffs and great mountains and rivers of the natural world — it is human consciousness. Without transforming human consciousness, a beautiful future is nothing but an illusory dream, forever beyond reach.

III. The Specific Content of Celestial Consciousness — Free and Unbound

Being at ease wherever one is, moving with one's nature, transforming with circumstances, responding spontaneously to each moment, acting in accord with nature, acting when acting, stopping when stopping, unhurried in all things, wandering freely at all times — following circumstances with open abandon, flowing naturally and freely — this is celestial consciousness. Enjoying LIFE and playing as a game is celestial consciousness. Entrusting LIFE to the Greatest Creator, entrusting the process of LIFE to the Tao to arrange and handle — this is celestial consciousness.

(Chanyuan Corpus · Thirty-Six Trigram Formations · Structure Formation: Thirty-Six Trigram Formation Ten)

The eight principal characteristics of celestial nature are as follows. First: follow circumstances with open abandon, flow naturally and freely. Second: act and rest without fixed measure, respond to each moment spontaneously. Third: leave love everywhere, never become attached to any one love. Fourth: possess nothing, be bound by nothing. Fifth: act without forcing, follow the Tao in all movement. Sixth: without forced compassion or forced sorrow — take graceful ease as the priority. Seventh: do not contend, do not debate, walk with fellow celestial beings. Eighth: carry the manner of celestial beings and the Tao — laugh and converse freely. A LIFE that embodies all eight of these characteristics is a celestial being. To act in accord with these eight natures is to embody celestial nature, and to embody celestial nature is without doubt to be a celestial being. Human beings are absolutely incapable of any one of these eight celestial natures. Occasionally a person will show a trace of celestial nature, but it is only a flash of light — it disappears immediately.

IV. The Eight Thinking Ladders — From Material Thinking to Hundun Thinking

The essential difference between people lies in thinking. We say Jesus is divine because his thinking is divine thinking; we say Śākyamuni is a Buddha because his thinking is Buddha-thinking. An ordinary person who does not change their conventional thinking will remain an ordinary person even if they live a thousand years in the human world. But if their thinking changes, they can develop toward the existence corresponding to that thinking. Therefore, the most important thing in life is not to find ways to possess material things, but to find ways to change thinking.

(Xuefeng Corpus · Heart-Mind Chapter · The Ladder of Human Thinking)

Thinking is hierarchical. I divide human thinking into eight ladders: 1. Material Thinking; 2. Imagery Thinking; 3. Associative Thinking; 4. Illusory Thinking; 5. Heart-Image Thinking; 6. Taiji Thinking; 7. Non-Form Thinking; 8. Hundun Thinking. The highest realm of thinking is Hundun Thinking — a mode of thought that ordinary people cannot imagine; it can be called divine thinking. The realm Śākyamuni reached was Non-Form Thinking; the realm Laozi reached was Taiji Thinking.

(Xuefeng Corpus · Heart-Mind Chapter · The Ladder of Human Thinking)

If a person thinks, reflects, and contemplates with the thinking of a celestial being — abandoning human thinking — they can escape the thinking formation imposed on human beings and enter the celestial world.

V. The Three-Step Formatting Path

The Tour Guide Route Map of Lifechanyuan is: those with integrity who do not haggle over personal interests or entangle themselves in worldly emotions, desires, or sexuality — they study Chanyuan concepts, sever worldly ties, and enter the LIFE Oasis; in the LIFE Oasis they perform service to repay karmic debts accumulated across lifetimes, accumulate the treasures needed for the Kingdom of Heaven, perfect the Soul Garden, and gradually format out human consciousness using celestial consciousness. This formatting of human consciousness proceeds in three steps: 1. Replace human consciousness with the consciousness of Thousand-Year World celestial beings; 2. Replace Thousand-Year World celestial-being consciousness with Ten-Thousand-Year World celestial-being consciousness; 3. Replace Ten-Thousand-Year World celestial-being consciousness with the Celestial Immortal consciousness of the Celestial Islands Continent of the Elysium World — ultimately achieving the Celestial Immortal state and proceeding to the Celestial Islands Continent.

(Xuefeng Corpus · Heart-Mind Chapter · Persevering in the Constant Is to Be a Supreme Person)

The Dharma gate for escaping the fixed-fate formation is: replace human consciousness with celestial consciousness. Once replaced, the fixed fate of being human ends, and the fixed fate of being a celestial being begins.

(Chanyuan Corpus · Thirty-Six Trigram Formations · Fixed-Fate Formation: Thirty-Six Trigram Formation Fifteen)

VI. The Cultivation Orientation — Complete the Transformation in This Lifetime

Recommendation: the human world is not the best place to live. Rather than trying in every way to age slowly and linger longer in the human world, it is far better to transform human consciousness into celestial consciousness as quickly as possible within the limited span of one's LIFE and go to live in the celestial realm. This is the most fundamental solution for preserving time and preserving youth.

(Xuefeng Corpus · Q&A Chapter · Preserving Time, Preserving Youth)

Once celestial consciousness has replaced human consciousness, one escapes the structure formation set for human beings and can set out for the celestial realm to enjoy the life of celestial beings.
