Sympathetic Resonance β Friendly Version¶
I. Why Do You Like This Person?¶
Have you ever wondered why being around certain people feels effortless and joyful, while being around others feels draining?
Xuefeng offers a very clear answer: frequency.
When two people's beliefs, values, interests, and life habits are aligned, they enter a state of sympathetic resonance, and what they feel is comfort, joy, and happiness. When two people's frequencies are very different, they feel awkward, drained, even painful β because they can't resonate, and energy is invisibly consumed.
Liking someone is sympathetic resonance. Disliking someone is the inability to resonate.
This isn't bias β it's a law of the universe.
II. It's Physics, and It's the Law of LIFE¶
In physics: objects with the same frequency, when one vibrates, cause the other to vibrate along with it β and the amplitude even increases. This is resonance.
Consciousness and the heart-mind also have frequency. Thinking produces vibrational waves; the heart-mind's frequency is determined by each person's antimatter LIFE structure. So sympathetic resonance doesn't just happen in the material world β it happens in the world of the heart-mind too.
For example: why does beautiful music make people relax and feel good? Because the music's frequency resonates with the frequency of the cells in your body β energy increases, and the whole experience lifts.
The same principle applies when you meet someone who shares your values, when you read words that move you, when you participate in a group that feels beautiful to you. Behind all of it is sympathetic resonance at work.
III. The More Elastic, the Easier to Resonate¶
There's a pattern in physics: objects lacking elasticity cannot easily resonate. Rigid mountains are easily destroyed; flexible water is nearly indestructible.
People are the same. Someone with a big temper, lots of attachment, and rigid opinions has little elasticity β they find it hard to resonate with others and tend to repel people. Someone who is humble, flexible, compassionate, and kind has greater elasticity β they resonate easily with many kinds of people and put others at ease.
So cultivating humility and developing flexibility isn't just a moral requirement β it's the physical need to increase your capacity to resonate with more of what is beautiful and good.
IV. The Difference Between Heaven and Hell β Just One Thing¶
Why is heaven so beautiful?
Because everything in heaven resonates everywhere.
Why is hell so terrible?
Because everything in hell is filled with conflict and contradiction.
Just this one difference explains everything. The beautiful moments in life β a close friendship, a harmonious community, a piece of music that moves you to tears β are brief experiences of "heaven," because in those moments, everyone is resonating together.
V. Those Who Resonate with Your Heart Are Your True Kin¶
"Who are our kin?"
Xuefeng quotes Jesus Christ β "whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother, sister, and mother" β and then offers eight criteria: revering the Greatest Creator, loving peace, sharing good and hard times, speaking gently, forgiving mistakes, not contending or grabbing, giving joy and happiness, and being intimate without causing harm.
In short: those who resonate with your heart-mind are your true kin.
Not blood. Not the same surname. Not living under the same roof. But the people whose heart-mind frequencies match yours. With such people there is no suffering, no quarreling, no fear β only beauty.
VI. The Wise Seek What Is the Same¶
What do you do when you encounter someone on a different frequency?
Xuefeng says: with those who can resonate, resonate; with those who cannot, step aside. "Fragrant grass grows everywhere at the ends of the earth" β why spend energy arguing?
When someone on a different frequency comes your way, no need to correct them or debate. Smile, stay calm, dissolve the encounter as a moment of karmic affinity. Don't show disdain; don't try to impose your values. Just meet them where they are.
"The wise seek what is the same; the foolish seek what is different." Wise people look for resonant people, places, and ideas β not differences to dissect.
VII. One-Sentence Summary¶
Sympathetic resonance is the law of the universe: resonating with something builds energy; clashing with it drains energy. The direction of cultivation is to tune your own frequency closer and closer to the Heavenly Way β and closer to resonating with more of what is beautiful, good, and eternal.
