Overview
In the Lifechanyuan system, "Celestials of the Thousand-Year World" are the second tier of the five-tier celestial hierarchy — the human celestials (rén xiān 人仙) — and the most accessible heavenly destination for human cultivation. The Thousand-Year World is a real planet 960 light-years from Earth, ten times Earth's size, whose inhabitants live for approximately one thousand years. These celestials possess no supernatural powers; their defining quality is the complete fulfillment of human nature — total equanimity, no worldly entanglements, and a constant state of joy, freedom, and happiness. Any person who has perfected their human nature can go there — "without restriction on numbers."

Celestial beings have five tiers: heavenly celestials, divine celestials, terrestrial celestials, human celestials, and ghost celestials. Heavenly celestials are at the Celestial Islands Continent; divine celestials have no fixed abode; terrestrial celestials are in the Ten-Thousand-Year World; human celestials are in the Thousand-Year World; ghost celestials dwell between the yin and yang realms.

(ii) The Essential Characteristics of Human Celestials¶
Human celestials are the sages of the human world. They understand the principles of things, have pure minds and few desires, act through non-action (wu wei), do not follow convention, are physically and mentally healthy, and can peacefully enjoy their good fortune. Human celestials do not possess special abilities — they simply see through the red dust of the world and the illusions of human life, are without attachment. They attach no weight to country, ethnicity, family, political party, religion, and so on. They go along with circumstances, move according to their nature, act as occasions arise. They participate in no political party or religion, no sect or school or organization, are unwilling to be bound and unwilling to bind others, enjoy connecting with kindred spirits, dislike associating with conventional people, and treat wealth, status, and reputation as passing clouds, and success, failure, gain, and loss as the passing vapors of human life.

(iii) Correspondence with the First Step of the Three-Step Path to Becoming a Celestial¶
Step One: Bid farewell to worry, pain, sorrow, anxiety, and fear. Live in joy, happiness, freedom, and bliss. At this point, you have already become a celestial being.

II. Physical Form and Nature of the Thousand-Year World¶
(i) Location and Scale¶
The Kingdom of Heaven's Thousand-Year World is a real planet 960 light-years from Earth. This planet is ten times the size of Earth, with a current population of approximately 200 million. Because the lifespan of the LIFE forms (celestials) on this planet is approximately 1,000 years (relative to Earth time), it is called the Thousand-Year World. The Thousand-Year World is purely a world of truth, goodness, and beauty; a world of love, peace, and joy — an elevated world of human nature. Any person who has perfected their human nature can, without question, go there; there is no limit on numbers.

(ii) Cosmic Coordinates¶
There are 20 parallel worlds in the universe. The world humans inhabit is the xy world. The world so-called ghosts inhabit is the -x-y world. The world deities and buddhas inhabit is the xyz world. The world demons inhabit is the -x-y-z world. The Thousand-Year World is in the xy-z world; the Ten-Thousand-Year World is in the x-y-z world; the Celestial Islands Continent is in the xyz world.

(iii) The Necessity of the Thousand-Year World¶
The Thousand-Year World, the Ten-Thousand-Year World, and the Celestial Islands Continent of the Elysium World were not conjured from nothing. Their existence is a necessity following the law that the sum of positive and negative energies equals zero — just as the solar system necessarily has Mercury, Saturn, Mars, and other planets; just as the human body necessarily has its seven orifices, hair, four limbs, and five organs. They are a necessity.

III. Eight Standards for Having Cultivated into a Celestial of the Thousand-Year World¶
(i) The Eight-Point Self-Assessment (Core Text)¶
Check yourself against the eight points below. If you have achieved them, you have already cultivated into a Celestial of the Thousand-Year World. If you do not wish to continue climbing toward the Ten-Thousand-Year World and the Celestial Islands Continent of the Elysium World, simply maintain your current state. When you leave the human world, you will smoothly arrive at the Thousand-Year World to enjoy its infinite scenery and the pleasures of LIFE for a thousand years.
One: You are entirely free of worldly entanglements, with no further ties to conventional society whatsoever. Your mind is unobstructed.
Two: You have reached the state of having nothing, yet possessing everything. You no longer worry or feel anxious about food, clothing, shelter, transportation, or the process of aging, sickness, and death.
Three: If told to die immediately, you feel not the slightest fear — on the contrary, you joyfully open your arms to welcome death's arrival.
Four: Your consciousness holds no regret, no resentment, no sense of incompleteness — only gratitude, contentment, and satisfaction.
Five: You live in harmony with the surrounding environment, life forms, and people — no grudges, no conflicts, no disharmony.
Six: Wherever you are, you are able to go along with circumstances, flow with karmic affinity, move according to your nature, and act as occasions arise.
Seven: If told to go somewhere else immediately, you can set out within a few minutes. There are no people, things, or places you are particularly reluctant to leave.
Eight: Every day you are in a state of joy, happiness, freedom, and bliss. There is no mental pressure whatsoever. Inwardly you yearn without limit toward the future, feel that your future is infinitely beautiful — gorgeous beyond words — and your nature-flower can bloom in full radiance.

(ii) Eight Points Required to Enter the Kingdom of Heaven's Thousand-Year World¶
To go to the Kingdom of Heaven's Thousand-Year World, we must achieve the following eight points: One, revere the Greatest Creator, trust in the Greatest Creator, and always hold gratitude toward the Greatest Creator. Two, revere LIFE and revere nature. Three, hold no jealousy, resentment, contentiousness, greed, attachment, selfishness, or blame toward others. Four, never restrict or impede the happiness and freedom of others under any reason or pretext. Five, be kind — kind in heart, in expression, in speech, and in action. Six, be honest — state things as they are, speak the truth, do not deceive or lie. Seven, be diligent — do not be lazy; keep your living environment and surroundings clean, tidy, beautiful, and harmonious. Eight, keep your word — be as good as your word, honor your commitments and agreements.

IV. Signs and Pathways to the Thousand-Year World¶
(i) Dreams as Signs of One's Direction¶
Those who cannot dream in color will have difficulty entering the life of the Kingdom of Heaven. If you often dream of green mountains and clear waters, sunny and pleasant, everywhere peaceful and joyful — that is a sign of your heading toward the Thousand-Year World. If you often dream of strange and wondrous scenery, often fly in dreams, often experience a wonderful merging of spirit and body with someone of the opposite sex without the slightest worry or fear — that is a sign of your being able to head toward the Ten-Thousand-Year World. If in dreams you can become invisible, fly freely, transform at will, and the external scenery changes with your consciousness — that is a sign of your being able to head toward the Elysium World.

(ii) Imagination as the Path of Shaping LIFE Structure¶
One of the secrets of becoming a celestial being is that in our consciousness we must create our future — create the celestial realm. In our consciousness we must imagine ourselves as divine immortals. "Whatever mode of thinking one has, that is the form of LIFE existence one will have." If we spend every day imagining life in the Thousand-Year World, gradually our LIFE's structure moves in the direction of the Thousand-Year World. When the fruit is ripe and the water reaches its destination, the day will come when we can go to the Thousand-Year World. Others will think you have died; in reality, you have already left the human world and gone to the Thousand-Year World to enjoy the life of the immortals.

(iii) Letting Go of Ego-Clinging as the Key to the "Visa"¶
To obtain the "visa" to the Thousand-Year World, the Ten-Thousand-Year World, or the Elysium World, one must let go of the self and enter the state of hún yuán (primordial wholeness). Letting go of the self is not the Confucian "preserve heavenly principle, extinguish human desire," nor the counterpart of American culture's "realize your individual value" — it is letting go of ego-clinging (wǒ zhí).

(iv) Today's Consciousness Determines the Next Life's Destination¶
If you have removed from your consciousness the concepts of family, ethnicity, nation, political party, and religion; if you love freedom and being unbound; if you love joy and happiness — in the next life, you will go to the Kingdom of Heaven's Thousand-Year World.

V. The Life and Environment of the Thousand-Year World¶
(i) The Thousand-Year World Is a World of Joyful Entertainment¶
The Kingdom of Heaven — whether the Thousand-Year World, the Ten-Thousand-Year World, or the Elysium World, and especially the Celestial Islands Continent — is a world of joyful entertainment. If you don't know how to play, don't want to play, why are you cultivating toward the Kingdom of Heaven? Do you want to go there to be a police officer? Let me tell you: in the Kingdom of Heaven, there are no police officers, lawyers, judges, bureau chiefs, section chiefs, or supervisors!

(ii) Life Details of the Thousand-Year World (Vivid Description)¶
The Thousand-Year World is ten times the size of Earth. It has nearly two million villages; the largest village has about three hundred people, the smallest about thirty. The population of each village is not fixed but flows freely...
Food is everywhere in the Thousand-Year World; the fruits of plants can be found throughout... There are no carnivorous animals — no tigers, leopards, jackals, wolves, crocodiles, venomous snakes... The Thousand-Year World is basically temperate year-round, with no strong winds, no heavy rain, and no night...
Celestials of the Thousand-Year World can, when necessary, go seven or eight days without sleep... The special climate, environment, diet, and way of life have shaped the special physiological structure of celestials of the Thousand-Year World — just as women in the Thousand-Year World do not menstruate monthly, but rather once every three to four months (Earth time).

(iii) Relationship Patterns Among Thousand-Year World Celestials¶
Among the celestials of the Kingdom of Heaven's Thousand-Year World, there are only two types of relationships: family relationships and lover relationships. Those who cannot enter into a sexual relationship between the two sexes are family; those who can are lovers. There are no other relationships beyond these.
