Human beings are confused β confused about: Is human life really controlled by destiny? How is destiny formed? Has everything in a human life already been arranged in advance? If it has been arranged, who arranged it and who directs it? If everything is arranged, does the individual have free will? If there is free will, doesn't it conflict with the pre-arranged plot? If there is no free will, doesn't the law of karma β "you reap what you sow" β cease to exist? Has every word a person says and every action they take been determined in advance? If so, isn't the human being nothing but a biological robot? Is everything coincidental, or necessary? Who carries out the rewards and punishments? And so on, and so on.
This is an extremely complex and vast system. To reveal it with full clarity is impossible β I can only sketch a rough outline and ask readers to verify it for themselves.
There are eighteen situations in human life that the individual cannot control and can only accept. For example, one's own parents cannot be arranged, chosen, or controlled by oneself. In fact, a great many things in human life cannot be chosen, controlled, or arranged. Not to mention that you cannot determine the size of your own eyes β you cannot even arrange a single hair on your own head. Facing the vast number of events in life, all we can do is accept our fate. If we refuse to accept it, what can we do?

Put another way: today was determined by yesterday and the day before; how tomorrow and the day after will be is determined by today's efforts.
Since everything has been arranged and determined in advance β since the story and plot of human life have already been set β where does personal initiative come in? How does the individual exert effort? When even what one says and what one does has been determined in advance, how is individual effort possible?
Individual effort manifests in the quality of one's thoughts and in the degree to which one plays one's role perfectly. A person's mental activity is not arranged by the script; a person's free will manifests in whether one's thoughts and one's specific role performance are carried out with perfection. For example: in a television drama, the script has already been written by the scriptwriter. The director selects actors based on each actor's appearance, personality, and skill. The actors must strictly follow the script's plot and the director's instructions. Those who perform well make the director happy β not only is their pay higher, but they are hired for the next drama as well. Those who perform poorly are paid less and are not hired again. So whether one performs well or poorly is entirely up to oneself β that is individual effort.
A person's inner activity is not pre-arranged and not destined β it is entirely a matter of individual free will, and it is also one dimension in which the individual must strive: whether to send out good thoughts or evil thoughts is entirely up to oneself.
Inner activity is cognitive activity; cognitive activity is a kind of wave; this wave propagates throughout the universe. In other words, when the heart stirs, the inner activity radiates throughout the universe β it is equivalent to loudly announcing one's thoughts and intentions to the entire universe. The individual cannot see or receive this, but the divine beings have already known it. Put another way, every individual's inner activity is instantly known throughout the entire universe, and is then recorded in the Dao's program. The Dao's program, based on a person's inner activity, automatically arranges their future destiny and LIFE trajectory for them β this is karma.
Then who rewards and who punishes? Rewards and punishments are determined by the Dao's program. The Dao's program is like a judge. The executor is not the Dao's program itself β that is, not the judge β but some factor in the vast world: perhaps a deity, perhaps a person, perhaps a dog, perhaps an ant, perhaps a storm, perhaps a special event. In other words, the judge sentences a person to death, but the judge personally does not carry out the specific execution β that is carried out by a series of other personnel.
This life's and this world's script has already been determined. Future lives' scripts change at any time. For example, based on a person's past thoughts, intentions, and actions, their future LIFE trajectory has been set as heading toward the Celestial Islands Continent β but during the process of playing their role, their thoughts were unwholesome and they played the role poorly. Then the trajectory toward the Celestial Islands Continent will change. The trajectory may evolve toward the Ten-Thousand-Year World; depending on the severity of the situation, the trajectory may shift to the Thousand-Year World, or loop back to the human world, or even evolve into the animal realm or Hell.
As the Guide, I have felt this deeply in directing the Chanyuan Celestials' scripts. For example, I had prepared a certain Chanyuan Celestial to eat a celestial peach β this was essentially determined, her LIFE trajectory. But in the process of playing her role as a Chanyuan Celestial, she didn't play it well. For example, when asked to clean a toilet, she didn't clean it thoroughly. So I knew that she could not eat the celestial peach β she could only eat an ordinary peach. This changed her fate, changed her LIFE trajectory.
Only the most beautiful things are worthy of the most beautiful LIFE to enjoy β this is the law. When we ourselves have not reached a state of supreme beauty, supremely beautiful things will absolutely not appear. When we are enjoying supremely beautiful things but our character declines, the supremely beautiful things we were enjoying will automatically disappear. This is both the law, the script's plot, and also a continuously evolving living script.
The past script is dead; the future script is alive. The living script changes and transforms at any time according to each person's thought-activity and the quality of their role performance.
The fairness of the Dao manifests as follows: the Dao gives entirely according to each LIFE's needs. If you need the blessings of this life, it will bestow them β but in subsequent lives there will be no blessings for you. If you want to become a wolf, the Dao will definitely arrange in the script for you to become a wolf. If you want to become a celestial being, the script will arrange for you to become a celestial being. Whatever you yourself want, the Dao will definitely fulfill and grant it. But it must be understood that the Dao's fulfillment is not executed immediately β it is arranged within the script's plot. This requires process, requires time...
Now a core question arises: you want a luxury car worth ten million. The Dao first checks your bank account β that is, what we commonly call merit. If the merit is insufficient β if your bank account doesn't have enough β the ten-million luxury car cannot be given to you. Even if you need a needle, your bank account must be checked. As long as your merit is sufficient β as long as your bank account has enough β whatever you need, the Dao will definitely fulfill it and grant it.
When a person's bank account is empty β that is, their merit is exhausted, their blessings are gone β they will quickly collapse, fail, lose everything, and may even go to prison. Therefore, human life requires constant creation of blessings, accumulation of blessings, and cherishing of blessings β in this way, blessings will flow unbroken and long.
The universe is a grand script. Within the grand script are countless nested layers of small scripts. All small scripts serve the grand script. No small script can transcend the grand script's arrangement. For example, the Milky Way is a large script; the solar system is a small script; the Earth is an even smaller script; individual nations are smaller still; each organization and group is yet smaller β and so on, down to the smallest possible scripts. If one adds in the antimatter world, the twenty parallel worlds, and the thirty-six-dimensional spaces, the complexity and vastness of this script is beyond imagination and impossible to fully describe.

Since everything is a fixed quantity, how can individual free will be exercised? How can one escape the constraints of the script β the kingdom of necessity β and enter a kingdom of freedom?
There are two paths:
One: Attain Supreme Enlightenment β as early as possible, become clear about the entire script's plot; on one hand, honestly and faithfully perform human life according to the script; on the other hand, step outside the script and watch your own performance. When you do this, your state of mind is different, your experience is different. Facing the same suffering, those who don't understand feel pain; those who understand feel it is interesting β the same situation, two different understandings and experiences. For example, take divorce, which is becoming ever more common today: some people, after divorce, suddenly feel the world has opened wide and the heart is at ease; others feel the road is getting narrower and narrower, disheartened and weary. This is the effect of free will. Knowing not only what but also why is like escaping the script, escaping the constraints of the kingdom of necessity and entering the kingdom of freedom.
Two: Walk the Way of the Greatest Creator, act according to your inner nature. To walk the Way of the Greatest Creator is to walk the natural Way. To walk the natural Way is to receive all of the Greatest Creator's arrangements for you with a joyful heart β even suffering hardship, even going through life and death β accepting all joyfully and holding gratitude toward the Greatest Creator. Whatever you do, wherever you go, whatever kind of life you live β receive it with equanimity, follow conditions, do not rush, do not hurry, play joyfully. Whenever you encounter a difficult choice, act according to your inner nature. After all, everything has already been written into the script, written into the program β however much you struggle is futile. Better to listen to your inner calling, act according to your spiritual perception (what people ordinarily think of as intuition or the sixth sense), do not use your own intellect to judge right from wrong, do not violate the strong internal impulse that drives you by using your own wisdom to suppress your inner calling. In doing this, you are following the Greatest Creator's will β you are the Greatest Creator's good child.
What is the benefit of being the Greatest Creator's good child? First: the Greatest Creator will exchange our performing roles β directing those who always violate the Greatest Creator's will and refuse to act according to their inner nature to replace our roles and perform the painful roles we were originally supposed to play, while arranging us to perform better games. Second: we will be arranged to the best destination β for example, the Celestial Islands Continent of the Elysium World, to enjoy LIFE's eternity and delight to the fullest.
But we must be fully enlightened about this: even the freest kingdom β the Celestial Islands Continent β is within the Greatest Creator's script, only with relatively more perfect and abundant freedom and LIFE's delight. Wherever you may travel, you must always observe "do as you wish without transgressing the Dao." Otherwise, karma will immediately arise; you will immediately be demoted; you will immediately be punished from the relatively free kingdom to the kingdom of necessity, to replace other LIFE's bitter and painful roles.
X. The Simplest Method: Accept Fate, Follow the Guide, Laugh Every Day¶
