Are You Really Making Choices?¶
Most of us believe we make choices every day — what to eat, who to love, where to live. But Xuefeng, the guide of Lifechanyuan, made a striking claim:
Although each person subjectively senses that they are making choices and decisions, the actual situation is that all their words and actions have already been arranged in advance.
This is not a counsel of despair. It is a call to clear-sightedness.
Life Is a Script Already Written¶
Picture the universe as a novel that has already been finished. The Earth, the Moon, peach trees, tigers — every form of life moves according to a program designed by the Greatest Creator.
- The Earth can only orbit the Sun. It cannot "choose" to orbit the Moon.
- A peach tree can only produce peaches, never apples.
- Human beings are born, age, fall ill, and die — none of us can escape this program.
And you and I are characters in this great script. When we are born, when we fall ill, whom we meet — all of this is written in the story. Our sense of being "in control" is itself part of the performance.
This is fate (shuming).
So Is There No Hope?¶
There is. Every rule has exceptions.
Xuefeng says: for 98% of people, fate is real and inescapable. But for 1–2% — those who genuinely awaken — the Greatest Creator "opens a gap" in the net, allowing them to step outside the script and into a far vaster domain of life.
That 1–2% consists of those who are walking the path of Lifechanyuan cultivation — those who have genuinely come to understand the mysteries of LIFE.
Transcending Fate Is Not Resistance — It Is Awakening¶
Many people, on hearing "fate," want to "fight back against destiny." This is exactly the wrong direction.
The Lifechanyuan approach works in three steps:
Step one: Acknowledge fate. Don't pretend you are already free. First, see clearly what program you are currently operating within.
Step two: Understand fate. Learn the deep mysteries of life, time, space, and consciousness. Just as understanding a computer program is the prerequisite for rewriting it, understanding the "why" of the script is the prerequisite for finding an exit.
Step three: Transcend fate. Use abnormal thinking and consciousness transformation to walk out of the program's constraints.
The Key Weapon: Consciousness¶
Xuefeng offers a vivid illustration:
If your consciousness is set on going to New York, you are walking the road to New York... But if midway you change your intention and set your mind on going to London instead, all trajectories toward New York are instantly altered, and you will never arrive in New York.
Consciousness is the root of your trajectory. Change your consciousness, and your fate changes.
The first step in cultivation is therefore to shift consciousness — away from pursuing wealth, status, and recognition, toward pursuing joy, happiness, freedom, and bliss; toward walking the path of the Greatest Creator; toward journeying to the Thousand-Year World in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Abnormal Thinking: Finding the Gap in the Program¶
If 98% of people share the same patterns of thought, they all operate within the same fate-program. To break out requires thinking differently:
- Be busy when others rest; rest when others are busy.
- Let go of what others cling to; embrace what others avoid.
- When others weep, find cause for laughter; when others celebrate, look beneath the surface.
This is what Lifechanyuan calls Abnormal Thinking — not willfulness, but the necessary cognitive posture of one who steps outside the ordinary fate-program.
Victim of Fate, or Author of Your Performance?¶
One Chanyuan Celestial wrote:
You are not the victim of fate — you are the lead actor on the stage. What you are called to do is not complain, not resist, but to awaken, to perform well, and to ascend.
The plot of your life may already be written. But what you can do is perform it with your fullest presence — and in doing so, walk through the gate into a broader and more luminous stage of LIFE.
