Why Roses Are Always Roses¶
Have you ever wondered why roses are always roses — why they never wake up one morning as daisies? Why you inherited your father's nose or your grandmother's sense of humor?
The answer lives in something called a gene.
Genes are specific sequences within DNA molecules that carry hereditary information — in plain terms, they are the "program code" written into the cells of every living thing. This code determines appearance, character, health, and life trajectory.
In the Lifechanyuan system, genes are called "the scripture of LIFE" — and the reason is startling:
- The human body contains one hundred trillion cells
- Each cell holds 23 pairs of chromosomes with 3 billion base pairs
- If you laid all of a single person's chromosomes end to end, they would stretch more than 600 round trips between Earth and the Sun
- All that information written out would fill a book 200,000 pages thick
- Six nations' top scientists spent over a decade on the Human Genome Project — and according to the Guide, only managed to glimpse 0.1% of 0.1% of what's actually encoded there
So we ask: could something this intricate, this precise, arise by accident?
Can we not recognize that the gene is a crystallization of the Greatest Creator's wisdom? Without the Greatest Creator, could such a complex structure have formed?

But Genes Are Not the Whole Story¶
Here's an important distinction: genes are remarkable, but they are not the deepest essence of LIFE.
Think of a letter written by someone you love. The paper, the ink, the handwriting — these matter. But what truly carries meaning is the love and intention behind the words. The paper is just the carrier.
In the same way, genes are the physical carrier of LIFE's "scripture." But LIFE's true essence is the antimatter structure endowed with Ling (spirit) that lies beneath and behind the genes.
The Guide explains it this way: drilling down through the levels of a fertilized egg — from nucleus to chromosome to DNA to gene codes — he asks: are these information and codes a material structure? His answer: obviously not — they are antimatter content.
This is why spiritual cultivation in the Lifechanyuan system is not about editing DNA. It is about transforming the antimatter structure — the invisible layer that actually determines where your LIFE goes.
The microscopic difference at the core becomes a vast difference at the surface. Cultivation must work at the level of the antimatter structure of LIFE — a small lever can move a great weight.

Genes Across Lifetimes¶

What you cultivate in this lifetime — your inner transformation — gets encoded at the level of LIFE's structure and carried into your next incarnation. This is part of why the Guide says that people who haven't experienced a heavenly way of living in this life won't find themselves in heaven after death: there is no shortcut, and the record is carried forward.
Why Genetic Engineering Is So Dangerous¶
If genes are the Greatest Creator's carefully designed scripture for each living being, what happens when humans start rewriting that scripture?
The Lifechanyuan answer is unambiguous: it is extraordinarily dangerous.
The Guide wrote a vivid essay titled Genetic Engineering — Ten Thousand Demons Breaking Loose, describing scenarios of genetic chaos: animals mutating, plants growing uncontrollably, ecosystems collapsing in cascading failure. These are not fantasy — they are presented as the logical outcome of tampering with the natural order.
The genetic code is the golden lock that maintains the relative balance and stability of the natural ecosystem and prevents all manner of demons from escaping.

Lifechanyuan's position is clear: stop all research and promotion of biological genetics, and stop cloning any form of LIFE.
Cultural Genes: When Teaching Becomes Part of You¶
The Guide also applies the word "gene" in a beautiful metaphorical sense. He says that true cultivation happens when the teachings of Lifechanyuan stop being something you read and become something you are:
If the content of the Chanyuan Corpus and Xuefeng Corpus is only read as articles and cannot permeate into our cultural genes, then Chanyuan Celestials will ultimately remain only humans and never become celestials.

"Permeating into the cultural genes" means the teaching becomes instinct — not just something you know, but something you are. It shapes how you perceive, how you respond, what you naturally do without thinking. That depth of internalization is what genuine transformation looks like.
