I. Definition and Obstruction Mechanism

Source: Xuefeng, "Don't Let Jealousy Cover the Spiritual Eye" (September 26, 2007)

Humans have six perceptual systems: sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and Spiritual Sensing. Through these six systems, human beings perceive and come to know the surrounding world and that which transcends space-time. If any one of these systems fails, we can no longer fully know the true state of the world and cosmos around us.

If we cannot see the material world, it proves our physical eyes have a problem — blind, closed, or covered. If we cannot see the antimatter world, it shows our Spiritual Eye has a problem — blind, closed, or covered.

Everyone has a Spiritual Eye — this is a built-in feature of human beings. All people have Spiritual Sensing; the only difference is sensitivity. The difference between a muddled person, ordinary person, common person, wise person, and celestial being lies mainly in the degree of Spiritual Sensing. The duller the Spiritual Sensing, the closer one drifts toward muddled existence; the more sensitive, the closer one moves toward celestial being.

Opening the Spiritual Eye and restoring Spiritual Sensing is the primary path in cultivation toward higher LIFE spaces.

How to open the Spiritual Eye? The teachings of Jesus and the Buddha are the treasure key. The Greatest Creator, Revelation, Wisdom, and Abnormal Thinking writings are the stepping stones.

How to restore Spiritual Sensing? Spiritual Sensing itself is like a mirror — nothing needs to be added. Just "constantly polish it; do not let dust accumulate."

Six impure roots make the Spiritual Eye difficult to open. The Six Roots are eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. Impurity means the mind has gone astray — not looking at what should be seen, looking at what shouldn't; not hearing what should be heard, hearing what shouldn't; not thinking what should be thought, stubbornly thinking what shouldn't. Therefore the Buddha admonished us: "right seeing, right hearing, right thinking."

Why does the mind go astray? The Buddha tells us it is caused by the Five Poisons: greed, anger, delusion, arrogance, doubt. These Five Poisons are the "dust" that must be "constantly polished away." I add a sixth poison here: jealousy... Jealousy will cover the Spiritual Eye and distort the true nature of things and events, leading people down the wrong path and into evil.

Don't let jealousy cover the Spiritual Eye!

II. The Eight Hundred Concepts #437: The Symmetric Definition

Source: Xuefeng, New Era Humanity's Eight Hundred Concepts, Fourth Edition (#437)

If we cannot see the material world, it proves our physical eyes have a problem — blind, closed, or covered. If we cannot see the antimatter world, it shows our Spiritual Eye has a problem — blind, closed, or covered.

III. After Purifying the Mind: Wisdom Eye and Dharma Eye Open

Source: Xuefeng, "Observing the Characteristics of Those Whose Minds Have Been Purified" (August 21, 2025)

After the mind has been purified, people become more beautiful in spirit, purer in thought, broader in knowledge, greater in perspective, higher in level... because after the heart-mind is cultivated, the Wisdom Eye and Dharma Eye open — one sees all things and phenomena more penetratingly and clearly, can transcend space-time to perceive the trajectory of history and the future of humanity, and can no longer be deceived by surface appearances.

IV. Spiritual Sensing: The Fourth Benefit of Purifying the Mind

Source: 771, "The Fourth Benefit of Purifying the Mind — Opening Spiritual Sensing, Locating the Celestial Island" (August 20, 2025)

Humans have five senses — eye, ear, nose, tongue, body — which help us perceive and understand the material world... Yet since ancient times, celestial sages have taught us to revere and believe in what lies beyond the five senses... "The invisible determines the visible."

Humans have souls, humans have Spiritual Sensing. The soul is our spiritual body — genuinely real. Spiritual Sensing is the soul's direct resonance; it is our ability to communicate with the antimatter world. Only because our Soul Garden is full of too many "weeds" — greed, selfishness, jealousy, attachment, arrogance, laziness — these have covered our Spiritual Eye, making our Spiritual Sensing weak, shallow, limited. To truly open Spiritual Sensing, one must purify the mind, clear the weeds, open the eye of the heart, and use the Spiritual Eye to observe, experience, and feel the reality of both the material and antimatter worlds.

The teachings of celestial sages are themselves the result of the Spiritual Eye observing the world — and the key that helps us open Spiritual Sensing.

Once Spiritual Sensing opens, the Kingdom of Heaven is no longer far away. The Celestial Island is no longer an abstract name but a coordinate deep in the heart — a real homecoming. We know where we are going; we know how to walk there. In that moment, life is no longer lost, LIFE is no longer confused — the road ahead is bright, every step sure.

V. Using the Spiritual Eye to Observe the World in Stillness

Source: Xuefeng, "A Vague Feeling" (2023)

From now on, let every Chanyuan Celestial place themselves in advance within the territory of death — forget all the love, hate, and grievances of this life, sever all worldly ties from consciousness, and use the Spiritual Eye to quietly observe the turbulent spectacle unfolding in the human world — without participating, without surprise, without the heart moving, without the faith moving.
