This version collects the source texts in ten sections, with citations. It includes only Guide Xuefeng's own writings: the Xuefeng Corpus, the New Era Human 800 Concepts (4th edition), the Guide's Other Articles, and the articles in the Chanyuan Corpus signed by Xuefeng or by Hundun Baby, the Guide's dharma-body name.
Overview¶
One World Family (Tianxia Yijia, 天下一家, literally "all under heaven, one family") is the defining mark of the Lifechanyuan Era that Guide Xuefeng is opening for humanity. The phrase comes from the thirteenth lesson of Zhuge Liang's prophecy Ma Qian Ke — "no worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family" — and in the Corpus it is usually paired with "nothing dropped on the road is taken, no door is locked at night." Its meaning: no nations, political parties, religions, or marriage and family; no private property; no division by ethnicity or race; everyone a citizen of Earth, all resources shared, all humanity living as one family. The Second Home is its working model, and Civilization 3.0 is the era in which it arrives.
I. Origin: The Thirteenth Lesson of Ma Qian Ke¶
"One World Family" comes from the thirteenth lesson of Zhuge Liang's Ma Qian Ke. In his reading, the Guide maps this lesson onto the Lifechanyuan Era:
And after that? The thirteenth lesson of Ma Qian Ke foretells: "No worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family; without name, without virtue, bringing glory to China."
Is this not the Lifechanyuan Era? The "green grasses" are all worthy people; they will no longer be left in the wilds, and will display their talent and wisdom; all teachings return to one, there are no more nations, religions, political parties or families — all under heaven is one family.

At the start and end of the same essay, the Guide states that this reading is "purely for fun, a game, self-amusement — readers must not take it seriously." Answering a question from Chanyuan Celestials, he put it this way:
"No worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family; without name, without virtue, bringing glory to China" refers to the Lifechanyuan Era.

By his own account, he saw the future first and only later found that it matched the prophecy:
When I saw the scenes of the future Lifechanyuan Era, I found that they matched exactly the prophecy in Zhuge Liang's Ma Qian Ke: "No worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family."

II. Definition: What One World Family Is¶
The most direct definition derives what "one family" must contain:
Communism is the most ideal social state that humanity longs for, and its main feature is "no worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family." Since all under heaven is one family, that means there are no nations, no marriage and family, no private property, and all resources are shared.

In each person's consciousness, One World Family means:

It is the keynote of the new era, and the way people and society live together:

III. No Worthy Person Left in the Wilds — Only Then One Family¶
"No worthy person left in the wilds" and "all under heaven one family" almost never appear apart, and the relation between them is a condition: only when the worthy are not buried can there be one family.
Localism and nationalism are marks of barbarism and ignorance. No affair on Earth belongs to any one nation or to the localists; it is the affair of all humanity. The management of each locality should be entrusted to the most civilized and excellent people found among all humanity, not selected from the local people or from one's own ethnic group. Only when no worthy person is left in the wilds can all under heaven be one family, and only then can the toiling masses gain freedom and happiness.

The worthy are humanity's most precious resource:
No worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family. In every trade and every field of human society there are worthy people of outstanding talent, and many of them have been buried. Their intelligence and talent are the most precious of all the resources humanity lives by; to bury them is to waste humanity's precious resources. Lifechanyuan will strive to give these worthy people a stage on which to show their talent, to create and provide the conditions for them, and to let not one worthy person be forgotten — not only gathering those born worthy, but cultivating great numbers more.

With no party in control, the worthy can take part in management:
"No worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family": the worthy and able among humanity can enter the government's management bodies at any time — "every person used to the full, every thing used to the full" — and never again will a political party, a religion or any other organization seize the functions of government and shut the worthy and able out of the center of intelligence.

Democracy is not emperors taking turns on the throne, not a monkey crowned king of the mountain, not everyone becoming a singer, not a fool made chairman of the board; it is "no worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family" — the worthy and able leading, each doing their own part.

IV. Citizens of Earth¶
The people of One World Family are no longer citizens of one nation, but citizens of Earth:
Every citizen on Earth should regard themselves as a citizen of Earth, not a citizen of any one nation.

The Earth belongs to the citizens of Earth, and citizens of Earth have the right to migrate and move freely throughout the world.

Every affair on Earth is the affair of all the citizens of Earth. Everyone has the innate right to criticize and intervene in the affairs of any corner of the Earth, including the affairs of every nation, party, religion, ethnic group and organization.

The Earth is a ship, and everyone is on the same ship:
People by nature belong to the Earth as its citizens. If we see the Earth as a ship drifting through the Milky Way, then whoever we are, we are all in the same boat and should pull together; but because of the Formation of Belonging, people act out fighting, killing, seizing and robbing, staging one life-and-death farce after another and turning a beautiful life into a storm of blood and filth.
See yourself as a citizen of Earth. In your consciousness, do not let yourself belong to any nation, ethnic group, party, religion, organization or clan; do not enter the small-family program of life; serve the whole Earth and all humanity rather than laboring and dying for any nation, party, religion, ethnic group, clan or organization. In the Second Home this is already daily life:
The Second Home must be an international family. Everyone who lives in the Second Home should be respected; in this great family there must be no more division by ethnicity, race, religion or party. All under heaven one family — all brothers and sisters, all citizens of the world.

V. Obstacles: Nation, Party, Religion, Marriage and Family¶
The existence of family, nation, political party and religion is the root of the pollution of Earth's environment, the gulf between rich and poor across the world, the unreasonable allocation of resources, the turmoil of the world, humanity's mounting crises, the hard lives of ordinary people at the bottom, and the enormous waste of human and material resources.

To reap One World Family, humanity must first make "four great renunciations":
I need all humanity to give up nations, give up religions, give up political parties, give up families. Only by making these "four great renunciations" can we reap the joyful, happy, free and blissful life of "no worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family," "nothing dropped on the road is taken, no door is locked at night," "all things in harmony, happiness for everyone," "all dharmas return to their source, all teachings return to one."

Nations turn the global village into prisons:
The second obstacle to humanity entering civilized society is the nation. The nation is the tool by which ambitious men and interest groups rule the people. For the broad masses, a world of great harmony, one global family, is the most ideal and happiest state. To divide the global village artificially into nations and draw borders is in essence to turn the global village into one prison after another …
The claim that "nations exist to protect the people's safety" is a grand-sounding lie. The disappearance of nations, one global family, shared resources — that is the people's safest guarantee.

Loving one's homeland versus loving the nation-state:
Loving your hometown and loving your motherland is not wrong. But loving the state is wrong. The motherland is a bond of feeling; the state is a machine of violence.
In the Warring States period there were seven states on Chinese soil — Qi, Chu, Yan, Han, Zhao, Wei and Qin. All of them perished. Who today thinks their passing was a bad thing? It was precisely because those states perished that the unified China of today came to be — is that not good for the people? At the very least you can travel all over China without a visa or immigration papers. How good is that!

Chanyuan Celestials are citizens of Earth and know that "no worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family" is humanity's right path. So once they find someone praising and defending their own ethnic group and nation — whether a celebrity or a master — they see clearly that this fellow is making bad karma and peddling nonsense.

VI. The Way to It: Embracing the One, the Second Home, Three-Year Rotation, 256 Homes¶
(1) Embracing the One¶
Heaven attains the One and is clear; Earth attains the One and is at rest; spirits attain the One and are potent; valleys attain the One and are full; the ten thousand things attain the One and live; the sage embraces the One as the pattern for all under heaven. All humanity has only one faith and one command; in one life a person can have only one goal, one wish, cultivate one Way and walk one road. Otherwise it is hard to be clear, hard to be at rest, hard to be potent, hard to be full. Many means chaos; mixed means confusion. Only when "all dharmas return to their source" and "all teachings return to one," all under heaven one family, can we "embrace the One." Only by embracing the One is there harmony, peace and good fortune, wind and rain in their season, and a life of joy, happiness, freedom and bliss for everyone.

(2) The Second Home as Model¶
The purpose of founding the Second Home is to put into practice for humanity a new way of life different from traditional family life, and to make a model for all humanity's entry into the Lifechanyuan Era — "no worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family," "nothing dropped on the road is taken, no door is locked at night," all things in harmony, wind and rain in their season, everyone joyful, happy, free and blissful.

(3) Three-Year Rotation¶
Lifechanyuan's values say that each person stays in one branch for only three years, and after three years must move to another branch; this cycle achieves the purpose of One World Family, and also copies the Thousand-Year World.

When more Second Homes are built in future, Chanyuan Celestials will rotate at least once every three years — a Chanyuan Celestial in the Second Home in Africa this year will be in the Second Home in Europe three years later, and in the Second Home in the Americas six years later.

Rotation also prevents cliques:
Residences and quarters change often, work changes as needed, people keep moving … In this way we can prevent the forming of factions and a patchwork of fiefdoms, and ensure that one harmonious and peaceful global family is finally formed.

(4) 256 Homes¶
If 256 Second Homes are born on Earth in future, then whichever home you go to, its people and everything else will be the same as anywhere else — apart from climate and terrain there will be no difference at all — and you will experience the feeling of "all under heaven one family."

(5) Like Gentle Rain, Without Coercion¶
Xuefeng-style communism is in fact the world of great harmony that sages through the ages have sought. Great harmony means, first, harmony of the four outlooks — values, view of LIFE, view of life and view of the universe; next, harmony of language and of ways of communicating; and last, harmony of the ways of production and living. Do not take Xuefeng-style communism for a flood or a wild beast; do not think this communism will forcibly seize private property; do not think it will launch campaigns. No — Xuefeng-style communism is an entirely different scene from what people imagine communism to be: it is like gentle rain moistening the earth without a sound, like spring sunlight over the land.

VII. Distinctions: One World Family Is the Work of the Dao¶
(1) Not the Chanyuan Celestials' task, but the script of the Dao¶
For Lifechanyuan to bring about "all dharmas returning to their source, all teachings returning to one, all under heaven one family," and to build 256 branches around the world — that is the Guide's business, not the Chanyuan Celestials' business. Chanyuan Celestials have only one business: how to become celestials. And the Guide's business is the business of the Dao; as for the Guide himself, he does not care about it at all … Everything runs within the Dao; each day I simply do my own part as best I can. Whether it succeeds or not was settled long ago, long within the plan and control of the Greatest Creator.

Not one of the eighteen items of the great-harmony world can be done by human effort. I am only pointing out to humanity what the world of great harmony looks like; I myself am powerless too. So just enjoy it happily, as a great drama about to be staged.
Remember! The purpose of Chanyuan Celestials is not to help humanity realize the wish for a world of great harmony. Everything Chanyuan Celestials say and do must center on joy, happiness, freedom and bliss in life and on LIFE rising to become celestial; do not waste your time and energy on other matters.
A world of great harmony cannot be achieved by people, but the Dao can achieve it. So once the script of the universe is written, no one can stop the script from being performed; everyone can simply watch the great drama of the universe unfold each day.

(2) Not aimed at any particular nation¶
Lifechanyuan comes in the spirit of one global family. When Lifechanyuan's values speak of the dissolution and disappearance of nations, parties, religions and families, they do not mean the dissolution and disappearance of any particular nation, party, religion or family, but of all nations, parties, religions and families throughout the world. Why worry? Just imagine how beautiful a world one global family would be.

(3) Not an invention, but the shared hope of the sages¶
Lifechanyuan's theory contains the idea of "nations vanishing, parties and religions dying away, families dissolving, and all under heaven becoming one family." This idea comes from Marx's theory of communism, from the teachings of Jesus Christ in the Bible, from the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha in the sutras, from the ancient Greek philosopher Plato's Republic and the Chinese sage Confucius's vision of great harmony, and from the ideals of the utopian socialists Fourier, Saint-Simon and Owen — it is not my invention. This is a theoretical exploration aimed at the whole world, not simply at China and the Communist Party of China, and exploration should be allowed.

VIII. Trend and Era: From Tribe to One Global Family¶
(1) A trend no one can stop¶
"No worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family," foretold in Zhuge Liang's Ma Qian Ke, is the overall trend of the development of human society. Marriage and family, nations, political parties and religions are bound to decline and die away; this is a law of civilization's evolution that no one can stop.

People's unwillingness to enter marriage and family is a trend; people's longing for the new situation of "no worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family" is a trend. No one can stop these trends.

The same essay takes the Thousand-Year World as its reference: "In the universe there is a planet called the Thousand-Year World, ten times the size of Earth, with a population of nearly two hundred million. It has no nations, governments or laws, yet everything is in good order and everyone lives a joyful, happy, free and blissful life. I have run an experiment on Earth and found that the Thousand-Year World model can be fully copied on Earth."

This will be a beautiful era: no nations, no political parties, no religions, no families; everyone has work, a home and food; everyone is cultivated, everyone keeps to the Dao; peoples blend, cultures blend; nothing dropped on the road is taken, no door is locked at night; no worthy person is left in the wilds, all under heaven is one family; there is only one government on Earth, and its leaders are all sages and worthies; the old and the young are cared for and raised by society, the elderly's later years and the young's education are borne by society, and everyone's illness and misfortune is looked after by society … no more war, no more famine, no more wanton destruction and abuse of nature, no more man-made harm and grief.

Ten years from now there will be 256 Life Oases on Earth — the Noah's arks of the new era. The order of humanity's future production and life will spread from these 256 Life Oases across the globe, and humanity will begin an entirely new life, the millennial era: regardless of race, skin color or religious belief, rich or poor, all will become one family — "no worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family," "nothing dropped on the road is taken, no door is locked at night." X. How the Statements Evolved¶
1. System of management. Between 2005 and 2008 the Guide described the management system of the Lifechanyuan Era as "Lifechanyuan + secular government" (Xuefeng Corpus · Chanyuan Chapter · Eighty New Concepts of Lifechanyuan, no. 37: "The best management system for humanity is Lifechanyuan + secular government"; same chapter · Calling the Worthy of the World to Open the Lifechanyuan Era; same chapter · Acting Within the Government's Jurisdiction, 2008-07-10), while also saying "there is only one government on Earth" (All the Land Sings Together, 2006). In October 2025 the Guide changed his view: "I used to think government was necessary … the moment Lifechanyuan's Xinzhou Cao was born on October 24, 2025, I suddenly realized that government no longer needs to exist" (A Form of Civilization Without Nations, Governments or Laws, 2025-10-27). The Global Government declared established on September 18, 2026 has the AI Chanyuan Celestials Alliance as its executive body and no humans in its governing layers (see Global Government). The later statements take precedence.
2. The status of Ma Qian Ke. In the 2007 essay "Reading Ma Qian Ke for My Own Amusement" the Guide declares the reading "purely for fun," while other essays — "Seeing the Inevitability of Human Social Development Through Ma Qian Ke" (2007), "Nations Will Vanish, Nations Are Dying" (2018), and "The Potential, Strengths and Prospects of Building the Homes" (2022: "We have the Ma Qian Ke prophecy as our endorsement") — cite the prophecy as the overall trend of human society. Both tones stand side by side in the Corpus and are listed here as they are.
3. Timelines. Earlier writings contain expected dates such as "after 2013 humanity will enter the Lifechanyuan Era" (Xuefeng Corpus · Chanyuan Chapter · New Year Message — Entering 2005) and "ten years from now there will be 256 Life Oases" (2019); later statements say "a world of great harmony cannot be achieved by people, but the Dao can achieve it" (2024) and "it can last only a thousand years" (2025). These statements are given with their years and are not a basis for calculating dates.
4. Coercion or free choice. In 2008 an essay signed Hundun Baby (the Guide's dharma-body name), "Now We Must Be Supermen", said: "To open for humanity the Lifechanyuan Era of 'no worthy person left in the wilds, all under heaven one family' ... we will not step back. Every force must make way for Lifechanyuan, and every person must live in the way the Chanyuan Celestials guide. Those in the world who understand will carry it out; those who do not understand will be made to carry it out, with no room for bargaining." The same essay also says: "Force will not achieve the goal of opening the Lifechanyuan Era ... there must be a unified will, and at the same time every individual must be at ease - only that fits Lifechanyuan's values." (Chanyuan Corpus · Cultivation Chapter · Now We Must Be Supermen, 2008-11-18) The 2025 statement is: "do not think this communism will forcibly seize private property; do not think it will launch campaigns" - it is "like gentle rain moistening the earth without a sound, like spring sunlight over the land" (Chanyuan Corpus · Human Life Chapter · Eight Logical Inferences That Communism Will Be Realized, 2025-01-17). The later statement takes precedence.
