Spiritual Rebirth & Abortion — Academic Version¶

Abstract¶

Within the Lifechanyuan cosmological framework, "spiritual rebirth" (投胎) is not the folk-religious notion of a wandering soul randomly attaching itself to a body. It is a precise inter-dimensional life-transformation mechanism in which a spiritualized antimatter structure (the soul) travels through the space tunnels of the 36-dimensional cosmos and enters the Positive Extreme Black Hole Body — the mother's womb — to begin a new life cycle in a different realm. The framework advances a philosophically and ethically significant claim: the fetus does not carry a soul from conception but only receives one a few days before birth. Abortion is explicitly condemned by Guide Xuefeng as an act that causes severe harm to young women.

II. Core Conceptual Analysis¶

The Positive Extreme Black Hole Body (YZ World)¶

The Lifechanyuan framework maps the cosmos as 20 parallel worlds. The Positive Extreme Black Hole Body (YZ World) occupies a neutral position — neither a high-life space nor a low-life space — and is specifically designated as "the place where life temporarily transforms (enters the womb)." Its material-world counterpart is the mother's womb. All new life for animals and plants passes through this cosmic "transfer station." Even celestials descending to investigate or experience the human world must pass through the Three-Realm Transit Continent en route to entering a womb.

The Fetal Soul Attribution Thesis¶

This is among the framework's most philosophically distinctive claims:

Humanity has long assumed that a fetus in the womb is a living being — but that is not so. The fetus is merely a "dwelling place," not a life. Only when a reincarnating soul travels through the space tunnels of the 36-dimensional universe and moves into this dwelling does the fetus become a life. Generally speaking, the fetus only carries a living soul a few days before birth.

This thesis diverges from major traditions: - Catholic/Christian tradition: ensoulment at conception; abortion is equivalent to killing a person - Buddhist tradition: the consciousness enters the womb at the moment of conception - Secular bioethics: fetal moral status accrues gradually through developmental milestones (viability, sentience, etc.)

The Lifechanyuan position pushes the moment of soul-entry to a few days before birth, which substantially alters the moral calculus for most abortions. However, this does not translate into an endorsement of abortion — Guide Xuefeng's condemnation of the practice is based on the harm caused to the woman, not solely on fetal soul status.

The Determinants of Reincarnation Destination¶

The soul's next destination is not random but is governed by the quality of consciousness accumulated in the life just lived:

Moral-qualitative axis: The 364th concept provides a ladder from Heavenly Celestial (supreme love) down to the fire-refinement layer (cruelty). One's habitual state of mind is the final determinant.
Territorial axis: Consciousness gravitates toward familiar environments. Cross-cultural or cross-racial rebirth is rare because antimatter's gravitational pull draws the soul back to what it knows.
Karmic debt axis: Outstanding interpersonal and cosmic debts act as anchors, compelling return to the human world until all obligations are discharged.

Abortion in Context¶

The single direct statement on abortion appears in a 2011 disciplinary notice to the Second Home community. Xuefeng's condemnation targets men who pressure young women into sexual relationships that result in pregnancy and abortion. The full ethical weight falls on the exploitation, with abortion identified as its most grievous physical consequence.
