- Romantic ethics: The network of generational order built upon kinship bonds. As long as the relational roles remain coherent (i.e., titles do not become confused), romantic love does not violate ethics.
- Romantic civility: Romantic behavior must choose appropriate times and places, not occurring where it would violate ethics.
- Age of romantic love: Romantic love refers strictly to relationships between adults.
- Romantic relationship: Any mutual admiration between adults that violates none of the above three principles and is not transactional constitutes a legitimate romantic relationship.
- Romantic plurality: Some prefer exclusivity, some prefer plurality — as long as both parties are willing, it conforms to human nature, and no one else has the right to interfere.
- Romantic morality: A romantic relationship built without harming the romantic relationships of others is moral.
