Abstract¶
The "Thirty-Six Bagua Formations" is a foundational structural concept in Lifechanyuan cosmology, referring to thirty-six programmatic constraints established by the Greatest Creator throughout the universe. These formations serve a dual function: they lock each LIFE into a specific space-time tier, consciousness level, and set of fixed numbers, while simultaneously providing that LIFE's environment for survival and reproduction — thereby maintaining the overall balance of the cosmic LIFE-evolution order. Guide Xuefeng wrote dedicated articles on individual formations from 2010 to 2020; eighteen formations have been explicitly described, while the remaining eighteen remain unrevealed. This entry systematically analyses the concept's definition, logical structure, mechanisms of each known formation, and the universal key to breaking free, drawing on the Chanyuan Corpus (eighteen dedicated articles plus related chapters), the Xuefeng Corpus, and the New Era Human 800 Concepts, 4th Edition.

I. Core Propositions¶
1. Thirty-Six Is a Specific Number¶
"Thirty-six" is precise, not a vague figure. The Guide lists "There are thirty-six Bagua Formations in the universe" as one of Lifechanyuan's 80 new concepts, placing it alongside other specific cosmic-structure figures such as "thirty-six-dimensional space" and "twenty collective worlds" — all parameters belonging to the fundamental architecture designed by the Greatest Creator.
2. Confinement and Protection Coexist¶
The formations are not simply prisons. Each also protects what it confines. The Gravity Formation keeps the physical world from disintegrating. The Instinct Formation gives LIFE its innate survival capability. The Fixed-Number Formation maintains cosmic order. The formations bind LIFE while stabilizing the environment that sustains it.
3. Every Formation Has an Exit¶
The Guide states explicitly: "The net is always open on one side — there is always a way out." Every formation has a specific method by which it can be escaped, and escaping it enables elevation to a higher LIFE space.
4. Humans Are Under Multiple Overlapping Formations¶
A human being is simultaneously constrained by the Emotion, Desire, Ethics, Belonging, Mind, Fate, Gravity, Space, Structure, Instinct, and other formations all at once. This layered entrapment is the fundamental reason humans find it so difficult to elevate spontaneously.

III. The Universal Key to Breaking Free¶
Independent Consciousness as the Core¶
The 2009 article presents the master key to breaking all formations as "independent consciousness" — having the Greatest Creator's Way as one's reference point and standard, and being unmoved by any external force (power, emotion, authority, physical attraction, etc.).
Consciousness Replacement as the Fundamental Method¶
Across the eighteen formations, every method of escape converges on the same underlying logic:
Format out human consciousness → Install celestial consciousness
Whether it is the Structure Formation, the Fixed-Number Formation, the Space Formation, the Instinct Formation, or the Thinking Formation, the shared path out is an upgrade and transformation at the level of consciousness. This aligns precisely with the core principle of Lifechanyuan's cultivation system.
The Unrevealed Eighteen¶
Of the thirty-six formations, the Guide publicly wrote about only the first eighteen. The remaining eighteen have no dedicated articles. They may correspond to constraints on celestials, Buddhas, and gods — higher LIFE tiers beyond the range of human comprehension — and therefore were not disclosed.
