VII. The Eight Marks of a Ripened Grain (Background Reference)¶
"1. The ripened grain unquestionably believes in the Greatest Creator with body and soul. If anyone doubts the Greatest Creator, you are not the person I am looking for. 2. The ripened grain yearns for the heavenly life without marriage or family. If you love marriage and family, you are not the person I am looking for. 3. The ripened grain cherishes the state of having nothing yet possessing everything. If you like owning things, you are not the person I am looking for. 4. The ripened grain has no heart — only nature — and must move according to nature, not according to the mind's thoughts and intentions. 5. The ripened grain follows the Way alone, without personal opinions or personal wisdom, united with the Way, flexible and fluid. 6. The ripened grain is humble, kind, diligent, honest, trustworthy, pure, healthy, and civilized. 7. The ripened grain is positive, optimistic, lively, playful, and joyful — laughing, teasing, and delighting in games. 8. The ripened grain lives by the ethics and morality of celestials, not of ordinary humans."
