Celestial Nature — Internal Version

This version collects core source quotations from the Lifechanyuan corpus on the topic of "celestial nature" (xianxing 仙性), organized thematically for deep study.

I. The Ontology of Xing — All Things Have Their Nature

"Each class of life has its own self-nature: gods have divine nature, Buddhas have Buddha-nature, demons have demonic nature, celestial beings have celestial nature, humans have human nature, animals have animal nature. Each class of thing has its own self-nature: mountains have mountain-nature, water has water-nature, earth has earth-nature, stone has stone-nature, wind has wind-nature, fire has fire-nature, air has air-nature."

— Xuefeng, The Self-Nature of Each Class of Life

"Nature is the characteristic of structure. Whatever antimatter structure a life-form possesses, that is what determines its nature. The essence of becoming a celestial being is changing the antimatter structure of life so that its structural characteristics align with those of a celestial being."

— Xuefeng, Life Structure and Nature

II. The Eight Characteristics of Celestial Nature (Source Text)

"One: Yielding to conditions, roaming at ease.

Two: No fixed rules, responding as the moment requires.

Three: Warm to all, bound to none.

Four: Owning nothing, unencumbered by anything.

Five: Non-action, following the Tao.

Six: Neither pity nor grief, grace above all.

Seven: No contention, no argument — walking with celestials.

Eight: Celestial bearing, full of laughter."

— Xuefeng, Celestial Nature (2019-11-22)

III. Detailed Analysis of Each Characteristic

3.1 Yielding to Conditions, Roaming at Ease

"Yielding to conditions, roaming at ease — this means being able to take all circumstances as they are, facing all arrangements with calm naturalness. When fortune comes, enjoy it. When hardship comes, receive it joyfully — without resentment, without blame. Whether in favorable or adverse conditions, remain graceful and at ease, still laughing at the wind and clouds, still living lightly and freely, never allowing circumstances to disturb the peace and clarity within."

— Xuefeng, Analysis of Celestial Nature (2019-11-23)

3.2 No Fixed Rules, Responding as the Moment Requires

"No fixed rules, responding as the moment requires — this means having no fixed commandments or formulas in one's mind, not presetting any frameworks, Buddha-dharma having no fixed dharma, everything adapting to the situation, handled situationally, law defined situationally. Not rigid, not inflexible, not stubbornly adhering, not self-opinionated, not unchanging. Today's method may not serve tomorrow; the method for this place may not serve another; what applies to this person may not apply to that person."

— Xuefeng, Analysis of Celestial Nature (2019-11-23)

3.3 Warm to All, Bound to None

"Warm to all, bound to none — this means being warm and tender toward all things, all beings, but absolutely never becoming overly attached to any single person or situation, never falling so deeply into the web of affection that one cannot break free, never losing one's freedom over a bond, never letting feelings disrupt one's normal state of life, never falling into suffering over love, friendship, or family. The moment one senses a bond beginning to bind, one disengages gracefully, returning to clarity as before."

— Xuefeng, Analysis of Celestial Nature (2019-11-23)

3.4 Owning Nothing, Unencumbered by Anything

"Owning nothing — this means not possessing anything, not appropriating anything. Everything is arranged by the Greatest Creator or Heaven or Nature; everything is given by the Greatest Creator or Heaven or Nature. One seeks nothing, demands nothing. Whatever one has is arranged by the Greatest Creator; whatever one loses is taken back by the Greatest Creator. Let things come naturally — those who come are welcomed, those who leave are not detained. At one with heaven, earth, the Tao, all things, and even death.

Unencumbered by anything — this means having nothing that weighs on the heart, no dependencies, nothing one cannot release, no psychological entanglement. Go when one wants to go, stay when one wants to stay. No worry, no anxiety. Wherever one goes, one is at home; wherever one goes, food is found; wherever one goes, one merges with the world. Not driven by seeking, not enslaved, not bound."

— Xuefeng, Analysis of Celestial Nature (2019-11-23)

3.5 Non-Action, Following the Tao

"Non-action, following the Tao — this means entrusting life to the Greatest Creator, entrusting the journey to the Tao's management. No ideals, no wishes, no plans, no pursuits. Not deliberately chasing any goal, not deliberately engineering any outcome. If it's fun, let's play; if not, let's not. When a bridge is needed, build it; when a mountain is in the way, clear it. If no river presents itself, do not build a bridge in advance; if no mountain appears, do not clear a path in advance. Everything comes with the Tao, goes with the Tao, changes with the Tao — just like water, which takes the shape of its container, flows down any slope, never pre-plans its direction, never pre-designs its outcome."

— Xuefeng, Analysis of Celestial Nature (2019-11-23)

3.6 Neither Pity Nor Grief, Grace Above All

"Neither pity nor grief, grace above all — this means not falling into suffering because one sees others suffer, not letting compassion for others become one's own anguish and sorrow, and certainly not letting this disturb one's graceful, unencumbered life. It does not mean being heartless; it means not over-investing emotion so that one suffers too.

Graceful (xiaosa) means unrestrained, transcendent, spiritually light, bearing oneself beyond the ordinary — never cowering, never crying injustice, never entangled, never fixated. When something must be released, there is no hesitation. When death is encountered, it is welcomed with a smile, without resistance or fear."

— Xuefeng, Analysis of Celestial Nature (2019-11-23)

3.7 No Contention, No Argument — Walking with Celestials

"No contention, no argument, walking with celestials — this means not debating any question with anyone, not discussing or deliberating on any issue. What is, is. Right and wrong sort themselves out; I choose not to contend, not to argue, but to remain graceful and free. Walking with celestials means not being with those who weep and wail, moan without illness, complain of suffering, harbor grand ambitions; and certainly not being with those who always wear furrowed brows, have no sense of delight, are pompous and rigid, and cannot play. Be with those who are relaxed, cheerful, optimistic, and open-hearted; with those who have celestial roots and celestial nature; with those who are at ease, free, and laugh at the mortal world."

— Xuefeng, Analysis of Celestial Nature (2019-11-23)

3.8 Celestial Bearing, Full of Laughter

"Celestial bearing, full of laughter — this means possessing the practical skills of living, the intelligence and capacity to independently handle one's food, clothing, shelter, movement, birth, aging, sickness, and death, and the spirituality to communicate with the Greatest Creator. With the Greatest Creator's blessing, one possesses celestial bearing. Full of laughter means humorous and charming — bringing joy wherever one goes, making people happy. Wherever one appears, laughter fills the space. 'Like an immortal descending to the mortal realm; like a spring breeze arriving overnight.'"

— Xuefeng, Analysis of Celestial Nature (2019-11-23)

IV. The Shortcut: Acting in Accordance with Celestial Nature

"There is one shortcut to becoming a celestial being: act in accordance with celestial nature. This is relatively simple. You don't need to study thick celestial scriptures, spend your limited lifetime trying to understand it intellectually, sit in meditation, refine elixirs, pray to gods, or chant sutras daily. Even an illiterate person, as long as they act in accordance with celestial nature, will gradually achieve it — becoming a celestial being is possible, is attainable."

— Xuefeng, Celestial Nature (2019-11-22)

"To become a celestial being, one must transform human consciousness into celestial consciousness — but transforming consciousness without centuries of cultivation is nearly unattainable. Consciousness is immensely complex: it permeates the blood, cells, and marrow; it permeates space-time; it is embedded in the retained information space; it runs through a person's entire life trajectory... Therefore, acting in accordance with celestial nature — starting at the behavioral level — uses behavior to influence consciousness, consciousness to change structure, and structure to achieve the transformation of nature."

— Xuefeng, Celestial Nature (2019-11-22)

V. Transforming Human Nature into Celestial Nature

"Mind without abiding is the celestial being. Transform human affection into celestial affection; transform human nature into celestial nature; transform the human world into the celestial realm."

— Xuefeng, Mind Without Abiding Is the Celestial Being (2020-08-28)

"What is cultivation ultimately about? Cultivating nature, love, and the Tao. Transforming human nature into celestial nature, transforming human affection into celestial affection, transforming human living patterns into celestial living patterns. Celestial nature is one of the core goals of cultivation."

— Xuefeng, What Is Cultivation Ultimately About

"The mark of having become a celestial being: no longer living by human habits; no longer acting by human emotions; no longer viewing the world through human thinking. Mind without abiding, mind without hindrance, yielding to conditions everywhere, graceful and at ease."

— Xuefeng, Becoming a Celestial Being

VI. Celestial Nature = Spirituality

"Spirituality is celestial nature. Over the next thousand years, every member of humanity will live as celestials do."

— Xuefeng, Sensory, Rational, Knowledgeable, Spiritual (2012-05-27)

"Sensory, rational, knowledgeable, spiritual — these are the four stages of human civilizational evolution. Sensory civilization is driven by emotion; rational civilization is driven by logic and intellect; knowledgeable civilization is driven by knowledge and skill; spiritual civilization is driven by spirituality — that is, celestial nature. Spiritual civilization is the civilization of the Lifechanyuan Era, the way of life of Thousand-Year World celestials."

— Xuefeng, Sensory, Rational, Knowledgeable, Spiritual (2012-05-27)

"Living out one's original nature as given by the Greatest Creator, living completely according to the will of the Greatest Creator, blooming freely and unrestrained — this is spiritual civilization, which is also celestial-nature civilization. No longer living constrained by morality, ethics, doctrines, nations, religions, or family — but blooming, like flowers, freely and in one's own season."

— Xuefeng, Spiritual Civilization

VII. Celestial Nature and Environment — Difficult to Cultivate in the Mortal World

"Mind without abiding, mind without hindrance — these are the fundamental characteristics of celestials and Buddhas. Can this be achieved in the mortal world? There is not even a slight possibility. In the mortal world, one must first solve the problem of survival. The pressure of survival causes the mind to abide somewhere; the demands of survival cause the mind to seek — and thus one necessarily has a mind that abides, a mind that is encumbered."

— Xuefeng, Difficult to Cultivate into Celestials and Buddhas in the Mortal World

"The Second Home provides the minimal conditions for nurturing celestial beings: food, clothing, shelter, and movement without anxiety; freedom and ease; far from money, power, fame, and desire; walking alongside like-minded companions. With these minimal conditions in place, and with appropriate guidance and elevation, becoming a celestial being is natural, inevitable."

— Xuefeng, The Second Home and Becoming a Celestial Being

VIII. Scope and Universality Conditions

"The above is addressed primarily to those who are naturally Chanyuan Celestials originating from the Thousand-Year World. Readers without celestial roots should treat it as casual reading and by no means attempt to cultivate toward it — the probability of going astray greatly exceeds the probability of becoming a celestial being."

— Xuefeng, Celestial Nature (2019-11-22)

"Only those who naturally carry celestial roots can become celestial beings. Celestial nature is a structural endowment, not something that can be manufactured by effort alone. Thousand-Year World life-forms bring celestial roots with them — celestial nature needs only to be revealed, not created."

— Xuefeng, The Conditions for Becoming a Celestial Being
