Yuan β Friendly Version¶
For readers encountering Lifechanyuan ideas for the first time
Have You Ever Felt This?¶
Some people feel like old friends the moment you meet them β even though you just crossed paths. Some relationships refuse to end no matter how many times you try. Some problems keep finding their way back to you no matter how hard you run.
In Lifechanyuan's teaching, all of this has a name: yuan.
So What Is Yuan?¶
Guide Xuefeng gives a remarkably direct answer:
"Yuan is a form of debt β services or grace received from others that have not been repaid in time. Yuan determines the direction of one's life and existence."
In plain terms: yuan is an IOU.
Everything you've done across this life and all your previous lives β who you helped, who you hurt, who you loved, who you resented β left a record. Those records are stored in the antimatter realm, like timed charges waiting to detonate. When the moment is right, they bring you face-to-face with the other party again, to settle accounts.
That's why some meetings feel destined. Not necessarily romantic β it may just be that you owe each other something, and it's time to pay up.
Yuan Isn't Just About Romance¶
Many people think yuan only applies to love relationships. In fact, yuan comes in many forms:
- Good yuan: You once shared mutual love and blessing, and long to meet again
- Virtuous yuan: You genuinely helped someone β they owe you a debt of gratitude
- Evil yuan: There was hatred or harm between you β that account is still open
- Worldly yuan: Ordinary debts and grievances from daily life
- Celestial yuan: Beautiful bonds formed with those walking the path of cultivation
- Following yuan: Joyfully accepting each meeting and parting as the universe arranges it
- Conjugal yuan: The love and enmity between men and women
Eight Rules That Govern Yuan¶
Xuefeng summarized eight core principles. In simple terms:
- Once formed, yuan doesn't disappear until resolved
- The deeper the love or hate, the deeper the yuan
- The bigger the debt, the longer the yuan lasts
- You create your own yuan; the universe enforces "what goes around, comes around"
- Yuan is invisible but real β cultivators at higher levels can sense it
- You can neutralize some yuan through good deeds, repentance, and giving
- Every "coincidence" is yuan arriving β when yuan is resolved, the situation naturally ends
- Escaping yuan's net depends entirely on wisdom and awakening
Why Does Yuan Cause Reincarnation?¶
Xuefeng explains it clearly:
"Yuan is a gravitational force. Unresolved yuan, no matter how much time has passed or how far apart in space, forever exerts its pull. There is no escaping it."
The yuan you haven't resolved in this lifetime is like a rope tied around your ankle β it will pull you back in the next life to finish what was left undone. That's why:
"While worldly yuan remains, one must reincarnate; while debts remain unpaid, one must return."
Want to move on to a better world? Then start settling accounts.
How Do You Resolve Yuan?¶
Xuefeng offers eight practical approaches:
- Pray, repent, and give without expecting anything back β the most effective way to repay karmic debts
- Follow yuan and transform β when something comes to settle accounts, receive it calmly without resentment
- Do only good, cause no harm β stop adding new entries to the ledger
- Only give; don't take β "Better to let others owe me than to owe others β this is the path to freedom"
- Avoid unnecessary entanglements β especially romantic ones, which are the hardest to untangle
- Build connections with people on the cultivation path β the people you walk with shape where you end up
- Forgive everyone who has ever hurt you β stop chasing old debts; sever the gravitational pull
- Revere the Greatest Creator; walk the Way β this is the deepest and most effective gateway of all
Where Does It All Lead?¶
"Virtuous yuan bears virtuous fruit; evil yuan bears evil fruit. Mundane yuan ties one to the human world; Buddha yuan sends one to supreme bliss. To understand the mystery and true nature of yuan is to be an immortal or buddha; to remain ignorant of it is to be one of the common multitude."
Understanding yuan is the dividing line between those who drift through life and those who consciously shape their path.
Those who don't understand yuan are pulled along by it their whole lives β buffeted by joys and sorrows they didn't choose and can't explain.
Those who understand it take charge: actively resolving worldly bonds, deliberately forming celestial ones, and moving step by step toward freer, more luminous realms of existence.
One Line to Take With You¶
Yuan is a debt. Resolving yuan is repaying it. Cultivation is the process of becoming freer with every debt paid.
