Feathered Transformation — Internal Version¶
This version collects the core source quotations from the Lifechanyuan corpus on "feathered transformation," organized by theme for deep study.
I. The Physical Mechanism of Vibrational Frequency¶
"There is a legend in Taoism about 'feathered transformation into a celestial being' — this legend is true. When the vibrational frequency of a person's body, mind, and spirit reaches an extremely high level, just as a physical object waved at extremely high speed in front of our eyes becomes invisible, one can indeed undergo 'feathered transformation into a celestial being.' So-called 'feathered transformation' simply means our naked eyes can no longer see."
— Xuefeng, The Road of Celestial Grace — Luminous and Resplendent (2013-8-10)
"The human eye can only see light with wavelengths between 400 and 700 nanometers; the ears can only hear sounds with frequencies between 20 and 20,000 Hz. Things beyond this range are invisible to us, sounds beyond this range are inaudible to us. When those who have 'undergone feathered transformation' due to high vibrational frequency disappear from our field of vision, they have actually entered a higher-frequency space."
— Xuefeng, The Road of Celestial Grace — Luminous and Resplendent (2013-8-10)
II. Higher Life Spaces and Revelation Through Dreams¶
"The space we are in right now is also a part of the Elysium World. One might even say that right now we are in the Elysium World. The sky we see is not empty — it is filled with high mountains, rivers, celestial scenery and fruit, and many higher-level life-forms. The reason we cannot see them is that our capacities for sight and hearing are limited."
— Xuefeng, The Road of Celestial Grace — Luminous and Resplendent (2013-8-10)
"What do we discover in the antimatter dream-world when we fly? We discover that as we fly, we can clearly see everything beneath our body, while the people on the ground cannot see us — as if we do not exist. This is a heavenly revelation. This revelation tells us: many higher-level life-forms are flying above our heads; they can see us clearly, while we cannot see them."
— Xuefeng, The Road of Celestial Grace — Luminous and Resplendent (2013-8-10)
III. The Empty-Luminous State — The Consciousness Foundation for Vibrational Frequency¶
"If body, mind, and spirit do not reach the empty-luminous state, vibrational frequency cannot be elevated. If vibrational frequency is too low, one cannot achieve unity of person and heaven, undergo feathered transformation, or enter higher life spaces."
— Xuefeng, A Few Small Techniques for Entering the Empty-Luminous State (2013-8-11)
"The empty-luminous state is a condition of no-self, no-form, no bonds, no burdens, no irritation, no worry, no anxiety, no fear, no attachment — a feeling of extraordinary beauty and extraordinary freedom. It is the state of: 'All dharmas are characterized by emptiness — neither arising nor ceasing, neither defiled nor pure, neither increasing nor decreasing. Therefore in emptiness there is no form, no sensation, conception, volition, consciousness; no eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, or mind; no sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, or object of mind; no eye-element, and so forth up to no mind-consciousness element; no ignorance and also no ending of ignorance, and so forth up to no old age and death, and also no ending of old age and death; no suffering, origination, cessation, path; no cognition and also no attainment. With nothing to attain, the bodhisattva through reliance on Prajnaparamita has no obstruction in the mind. Because there is no obstruction, there is no fear; far removed from inverted dream-thinking, ultimate nirvāṇa.'"
— Xuefeng, The Road of Celestial Grace — Luminous and Resplendent (2013-8-10)
IV. The Eight Techniques for Entering the Empty-Luminous State (Complete Source Text)¶
1. Own nothing. Once you possess clinging emotions, jealousy, resentment, anger, and rage are unavoidable. Once you possess money, power, status, fame, or property, anxiety, worry, and fear are unavoidable. Once you possess a "self," disputes, arguments, debates, struggles, and quarrels over right and wrong — energy competitions — are difficult to avoid. Therefore own nothing, and body, mind, and spirit can become empty-luminous.
2. Rest easy wherever you are; follow the Tao without fail. Trust that God will take care of you. Trust that the Tao will arrange everything reasonably. Trust that the mechanism of karma operates with flawless precision. Whatever circumstances you find yourself in, maintain calm and equanimity. Do not try to escape. Do not expect that better conditions or things await you elsewhere. Do not complain. Do not struggle. Face your current circumstances with serenity.
3. Transform with circumstances; do not cling. The people and events that arrive at your side and descend upon your head are not random coincidence — they are the necessary sequencing of karmic arising and passing. Never regret anything you have done. Never look back in longing on anything past. Whether wind and rain or brilliant sunshine, follow the flow of circumstances in all things. When circumstances arrive, dissolve them. When circumstances depart, forget them. Do not cling to your own pursuits and goals. Keep body, mind, and spirit in the empty-luminous state at all times and in all places.
4. Stay in harmony with the group. When everyone lies down, you also lie down — do not remain standing. When everyone stands up, you also stand up — do not remain lying down. When everyone plays, you also play — do not look on with cold detachment. When everyone is bare, you also be bare — do not perform superior refinement. When everyone admires flowers, you also admire flowers — do not treasure only your own beauty. When everyone has grown quiet, you also grow quiet — do not stand apart like a crane among chickens, insisting on being different.
5. Less scheming, more play. Do not be outwardly still while inside you are churning through calculations. Do not speculate and guess at others' intentions and schemes. Do not groundlessly imagine people as bad actors. In idle times, it is best to play: compose a short poem, listen to music and dance, practice a musical instrument, stroll in the garden by the fields or riverside, plant and admire flowers, play all the games you can play with others. This way body, mind, and spirit will relax, extraneous thoughts will not arise, and unrighteous thoughts will have nowhere to reside.
6. Work and create — it purifies the heart. Work and create every day. Give and contribute every day. Do not fritter away a single day in idle consumption. Make those around you unwilling to see you as a lazy, useless, valueless person. Live so that you owe others nothing. Living this way, the heart is at ease, the mind is untroubled, body, mind, and spirit will naturally feel light and easy, those around you will respect you, you yourself will feel clear and refreshed, and body, mind, and spirit will naturally enter the empty-luminous state.
7. No desire, no seeking — stay far from inverted dreams. Without desire there is strength; without seeking there is peace. Desire and seeking will twist your true nature, will suppress your spirit, will make you feel base… Follow the flow of circumstances in all things. Follow nature in all things. Let everything ripen in its own time and come to fruition naturally. Do not try to pluck unripe fruit. Do not try to obtain what you should not obtain…
8. Do not compete for energy with others. All conflict, contradiction, and struggle are about competing for energy… The moment you step outside it, there is immediately a scene of clear breeze, bright moon, high mountains, and long rivers — a scene of harmony and peace everywhere… Go absorb the essence of sun and moon, the vital energy of heaven and earth. In this way, body, mind, and spirit can enter the empty-luminous state.

V. Advanced Cultivation: Breaking Out of the Cocoon¶
"Spinning a cocoon, imprisoning yourself, breaking out of the cocoon — spinning the cocoon is to protect yourself, breaking out of the cocoon is for feathered transformation into a celestial being.
Elementary cultivation is spinning the cocoon. Intermediate cultivation is for nurturing new life within the cocoon. Advanced cultivation is breaking out of the cocoon — feathered transformation into a celestial being.
All forms are cocoons. At the beginning of learning, the cocoon provides protection; when learning is complete, you must break through all forms.
Forget constitutions and laws, forget all rules and regulations, forget all commandments and precepts, forget all moral codes. Except for the Greatest Creator, nothing exists in the heart. No nation or ethnicity, no political party or organization, no religious institution, no family, no parents, no spouse, no children, no teacher or master, no guide, no enemy, no friend, no enemy, no relative. The universe has dissolved. Time is gone. Space is gone. The self is gone. The material world has disappeared.
Virtue, benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and trustworthiness are also gone. Let consciousness return to Primordial Hundun."
— Xuefeng, Breaking Out of Forms — Advanced Cultivation 2 (《冲出形式——高级修行2》)
VI. Deep Roots and a Firm Base — Long Life and Enduring Vision¶
"Therefore, to attain long life and enduring vision — feathered transformation into a celestial being — one must have deep roots and a firm base. What is the root? The way of the Greatest Creator is the root. What is the base? The teachings of gods and Buddhas are the base.
What is meant by deep roots and a firm base is: walking the way of the Greatest Creator, awakening one's innate nature and spiritual awareness, listening to the teachings of Jesus and Shakyamuni, sensing and comprehending the great thousand-fold world, pursuing supreme enlightenment, transcending the three realms, escaping the five elements, illuminating no-form, rushing toward the source — merging the limited human life into the boundless time-space of LIFE."
— Xuefeng, On Becoming Celestial, Part Nine: Deep Roots and a Firm Base — Long Life and Enduring Vision (《修仙篇之九:深根固柢 长生久视》)
VII. Warning at the Ability-Manifestation Stage¶
"What I must particularly emphasize is that during your process of cultivation, practice, and attaining the Tao, your physical constitution is undergoing changes… extraordinary abilities you could not have imagined will manifest in you. Walking on water, riding clouds and mist, passing through walls, telekinesis — these are child's play. Invisibility, earth-penetration, and shape-shifting are also not difficult…
Once some abilities begin to appear, you must, again and again, remind yourself: you are still a long way from feathered transformation. If at this moment one ordinary-world thought stirs — if you display your abilities to the people of the world — you will deeply regret it. Many people have failed in the process of becoming celestial at exactly this stage. As for the reason, this is a heavenly secret I cannot reveal — because if I revealed it, it would be as if I had led a wolf into a flock of sheep. Humanity and the celestial realm would suffer. The higher the ability, the greater the destructive force."
— Xuefeng, Elementary Cultivation (《初级修炼》)
VIII. Mind Purity and the Causal Mechanism of Becoming a Celestial Being¶
"Illness arises from the mind; circumstances are created by the mind. A pure mind has the power to focus energy. Small mirror fragments individually have little power, but when many small mirrors focus on a single point, the reflected light energy can ignite wood and bring a pot of water to boil — this is the principle of the solar cooker. … Real images arise from your mind. Becoming a celestial being requires the purity of the mind. Mind-image thinking is the activity of the mind, and the result of this activity is the mystery of becoming a celestial being."
— Xuefeng, The Mind Produces Real Images (《心灵出实像》)
